This patient and his doctor pushed the FUE number above a reasonable limit that reflected his normal donor density (https://newhair.com/resources/#tab-id-4). He has a see-through donor area and significant donor site depletion. Now he might have hair on the top of his head but he is bald in the donor area. Even with long hair, he can’t address this problem. The only solution is Scalp MicroPigmentation (https://scalpmicropigmentation.com/scar-covering/)

Balding by Race?
Dear Doctor,
How do reconcile your two statements below?
“Studies have shown that there is little difference in balding statistics between races.” source – Sept 29, 2008
“Asians (non-balding) generally have less hair than their Caucasian counterpart and also have less balding than their Caucasian counterparts according to studies I have researched in the past.” source – March 11, 2009
Touché.
There is a common belief that Asians bald less, but I really do not know this. The only race that does not bald is the American Indians who migrated over the Alaska Bridge.
Early Balding in Black Men Under 30 Show an Increase Risk of Prostate Cancer as They Get Older
I have also read that men who develop crown balding (back of the head balding) have a higher risk of heart disease. I found this to be true in my patient population.
Statistics are always interesting!
Balding at 17
I have been slowly loosing since i was 15 about and i have nw 1.5 if that Means anything, anyways i am in a really early stage and i want to keep my hair for AS long AS possible. I am completely new to this and don’t know anything about what to do . Is there any products i should look into or buy straight away to slow down the hair loss. My dad Also did begin loosing HIS hair in an young age. My hair loss is my biggest insecurity and i would love to do something about IT. Thank you in advance (sorry for bad english and spelling errors but english is not my First Language)
Your language is fine and you communicated your problem very well. You need to find a doctor who can work with you, build a Master Plan for you, if they have a HAIRCHECK instrument (https://baldingblog.com/19-year-old-parent-told-not-balding-according-haircheck/) then use this as a guide to your treatment success. Finasteride is a great drug for you if you are really balding, you MUST have a doctor work with you for this.

Balding at 14 Years Old
I work in a school and recently met an 8th grade student, so 13 or 14 years old, who had very advanced male pattern baldness. It had clearly progressed in the male pattern, and he was somewhere around a Norwood 5 or 5A. There was a large bald circle on the crown, and what remained of the forelock was very thin. My question is: Is it possible for MPB to occur that early without the presence of a disorder, or does balding at such a young age reflect some underlying problem beyond the simple genetic predisposition for male pattern baldness?
Androgenic alopecia (AGA) or Male Pattern Balding (MPB) starts with puberty when the hormones change in the young man. In general most MPB starts around late high school/ early college years. I suppose a 14 year old going through puberty can have signs of MPB. I have seen 16 to 18 year old boys with complete Norwood 5/6 balding.

Balding and Hair Characteristic Genes?
Hello doctor. I was wondering, are the genes for balding and hair ‘type’ independent? For example, if a bald person has straight hair as does their son, is their son at a higher risk of losing their hair since they have the same hair type. I guess this could be similar for curly hair too.
As far as I’m aware, hair characteristics and balding aren’t linked. For example, a son might have the same hair type as his father, but the son didn’t get the father’s balding pattern. There’s also nothing showing a link between hair color and baldness.
Is This Balding? 35 Year Old Dad Talking About His “Balding”! (from Reddit)
This man is not balding. He has a mature hairline with a persistent frontal forelock that brings his central hairline down to where it was when he was 5 years old. This is an important video to watch if you are young and trying to figure out if you are balding.
This guy says he’s a NW3? If that’s the case I’m royally fuked. Thoughts? from tressless
Balding 22 Year Old Woman (with Photos)
This 22 year old patient came to see me for hair loss she’s been experiencing for the past 2 years. She did all of the right things, saw two dermatologists, and received a complete medical work-up for a variety of disease entities and vitamin deficiencies and was found to be normal. What I told her is as follows:
- Obtain a new test for androgen sensitivity of her hair based upon a genetic test
- If she is sensitive to androgen, we might try her on an androgen blocker such as finasteride or dutasteride in the hope that this will block enough of the androgen to allow better hair growth.
The science is minimal that support this thesis, but it is better to try to block the androgens on women who are positive to the genetic test for androgen sensitivity than to put all women on the drugs.
In addition, as we could not offer her an immediate benefit with drugs, we used a concealer treatment on her hair and showed her how to do this herself. Her comment after the application of DermMatch was, “I have been reborn”.

First off, thank you for give us permission to use your photographs. I like being able to offer visitors to this site a chance to see precisely what they’re reading about.
It appears that you have a condition called triangular alopecia. This is a genetic condition which can be treated with hair transplantation very successfully. There is no need to suffer as you are. I would be happy to see you for a consultation.
