Will Hair Grow Back After My Car Accident?

i was in a car crash 4 months ago and got a bleed to the brain that needed to be operated on..im just wondering seen as im only 18 wil hair ever grow back on the scar if not is there anyding else i could do?

Incisions from brain surgery often produce scars because they widen slightly (about 1/4 inch on many people). If they are located in the hair baring scalp, then these scars are easily treated with hair transplants, quite successfully. The hair will not grow back on its own in the scar.

Will gym cause accelerated hair loss?

I’d strongly caution you against looking at mpb based on level of testosterone or even DHT. Mpb is a result of complex biological interactions and exercise results in complex effects on the body. Exercise association to Mpb need not have any relationship to whether or not exercise affects testosterone.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5500728/ This was published just over 2 years ago to look at the association of AGA and exercise. They got somewhat mixed results and fail to properly control for the effects of balding on degree of exercise, but nonetheless among those with a family history of AGA it does suggest at least some association of having AGA and engaging in more exercise than those without AGA. The association may be severely reduced in those without a predisposition for AGA as shown in the no family history of AGA. (Fig. 1) Which could suggest some interaction of exercise to AGA among people predisposed to AGA that is not present it those who are not predisposed to AGA.

There aren’t really worthwhile studies to answer the question since the few that exist fail to remove the issue of degree of balding affecting degree of exercise. It would probably be worthwhile to make a well designed questionnaire which effectively addresses this question, since previous studies have all been poorly designed in that regard such that we have no real evidence to answer the question of this post for causation.

Good study; however, it was only the low intensity exercise group with a family history of AGA that saw an effect causing alopecia. The study was taken with participant cooperation and therefore required individual reporting, which has its limits. Thanks for following up and pointing me to this interesting study.

Will finasteride stunt my growth?

I am an 18 year old, turning 19 in a month who’s been on fin since December 12th and was wondering if it will stunt my growth. I’m not sure if I’ve stopped growing but in the past year I went to the A&E twice for unrelated reasons and realized that between those two visits, the latest being on NYE, I had grown a few cm according the nurses measurements. Is there any chance fin could stunt my growth and if I should stay on it or switch to min till I’m older.

I haven’t seen stunted growth in the many years using it on men of 17 or older. I routinely prescribe finasteride for men over 17 with parents permission

Will finasteride reverse my miniaturizing hairline?

Hey I’m 19 and In thinning around the hairline I’m now on 0.5g finasteride since 2 weeks and me question is will finasteride thicken these fine hairs on the hairline or do I need to Derma roll?

Provided you are not talking about the loss of your juvenile hairline in developing a maturing hairline, a 19 year old with early genetic Class 3 type hair loss may reverse the process on finasteride. Finasteride will not help you hold on to a juvenile hairline or bring it back.

Will finasteride maintain your hair as you get older if you stick to it?

Wondering if you have strong hairloss genes in our family that would make you end up at a NW 5-6 at a rather young age and start taking fin were you still able to maintain?

I have had many patients on finasteride since it came out and never had a hair transplant. These men found that it maintained their hair. A few stopped it and were shocked that they lost hair from stopping it and most quickly went back on it but not everyone grew back what they lost from stopping it. I don’t know if finasteride can stop the final progression of hair loss, but it does seem to hold on to some hair in almost everyone. I personally have been curious to see a person who became a Class 7 pattern male when he was 23, what would have happened to him had he been on finasteride. In other words, could it have stopped the progression to his Class 7 pattern?

Will finasteride increase my hair density?

I have decent coverage but low hair density and when I push it around I can see it’s a bit thin up top especially under super bright light. Will fin alone help with thickening up the top and increasing the density? I really don’t want to take min bc it’s not extremely bad. Thanks.

Yes, it can, especially in a young man under 25. That is why I do HAIRCHECK tests to see the differences in density before and after treatment with finasteride.

Will finasteride hold my hair?

I’m in a bit of a predicament now. I can feel my hair getting thinner over the past year, but visually, my hair density still looks somewhat the same as before. If I were to take a picture right now, no one would even suspect I’m thinning because I still have a full head of hair. In fact the dermatologist I visited just took a look without using a trichoscan thought I was crazy and just prescribed me Minox unwillingly.

From what I have seen here, almost everyone hopped on Fin only when they start to see visible thinning. I haven’t come across anyone who has a head of hair on Fin. Despite people saying that prevention is the best, it seems that people only start medication once thinning becomes noticeable?

Finasteride has been shown to slow hair loss significantly when compared with men who didn’t take it. The spread between the two groups last years, showing that people who lose hair on finasteride lose it slower than they would have had they not taken in. Another way to look at it is that men on finasteride kept their hair longer over more than a decade than men who didn’t take it. Here is the graph that shows this: https://baldingblog.com/5-year-growth-plotted-with-propecia-compared-to-control-group/

Will finasteride fix my failed hair transplant?

I m 30 years old male with a complete Class 6 pattern of balding and I have had two FUE transplants with little to show for it. I want to try Propecia to revive the dead hair making i alive again. is that possible?

The drug finasteride does not bring back the dead hairs that you used to have. Photos would help me help you. The best approach is either to complete the transplant with a doctor who will give you a realistic expectation or get Scalpmicropigmentation to create the look of a full head of shaved hair, see: https://scalpmicropigmentation.com/bold-shaved-look/
