This is a wonderful response to Oral Minoxidil 2.5mg daily that I prescribed for one year use. Most of his frontal hairline had disappeared but returned with the oral minoxidil.

There are over 500 clinics in Turkey bringing in over $1 billion per year. Of the 500+ clinics, over 90% are illegal without a doctor in the facility doing the surgery or the anesthesia. Many clinics perform multiple surgeries in a single large room, risking a cross-over of germs or even HIV from one patient to another. Production line hair transplants should be avoided as they are not bargains. Some of the good clinics with a good doctor do good work, but many of the clinics do variable quality work, many with infections reported by my European colleagues and deaths that are never reported. Just be careful and make sure that there is a doctor doing the surgery who has a good reputation.

Hanna was born 15 weeks premature and given only a five percent chance to live. The difficult birth resulted in severe bruising on her head and lead to lifelong scarring that destroyed the hair follicles on her scalp.

Hanna knew from a young age that her hair loss made her different. Despite being turned down by their insurance company twice, Hanna’s family was determined to find a way to correct her appearance. They learned of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery’s Operation Restore program. Operation Restore is a pro bono program designed to match prospective hair restoration patients suffering from hair loss, as a result of an accident, trauma or disease, with a physician willing to help those who lack the resources to obtain treatment on their own.

Hanna was matched with Dr. Bill Parsley. He performed three surgeries over three years at no cost. These procedures restored Hanna’s hair, which in turn, restored her self-esteem.

 

We hold Open House Events every month in our Los Angeles where former patients come in to discuss their experience with prospective patients. I asked them yesterday if they would be willing to allow me to photograph their hairlines. These men said yes. All of these hairlines were transplanted by either Dr. Rassman or Dr. Pak. As you can see, they are each different but they are all normal looking and don’t look like their hair was transplanted but the hairlines were directed by the patient so what you see is individual differences between patients individual tastes.
