The use of 1 or 1.5mm needle length will produce bleeding. Healing is slow and if you repeat this every week, the pink color may persist over the entire week depending upon your skin characteristics. Be prepared to have a pink color show here after the microneedling has healed a few days.

Does microneedling at <0,5 mm depth really increase minoxidil absorption?

The epidermis of the scalp is 0.5mm thick so if you microneedle at that depth or less, the epidermis has no blood supply so speak of and mainly contains keratin. There will be no benefit and no absorption at 0.5mm depth or less of any medication other than what normally works its way through the scalp. The purpose of microneedling is to get to the stem well that resides about 1-1.5mm below the scalp surface and produce wounds that force healing and hair regrowth. Microneedling depths of 1=1.5mm is ideal.

Do you apply minoxidil right after dermarolling? If so, why? Is it more efficient or just personal preference? Also what is the perfect derma roller size? 1.5mm or less/more. And how do you clean your derma roller? Sorry for all the questions, im just cautious

If you apply the minoxidil immediately after dermarolling, then the medication may go through the skin directly making it more effective

There is a huge movement to using microneedling plus minoxidil for stimulating hair growth shown nicely in this man. I wish the photos were more comparable. Many young men are doing this themselves with a low cost (some pain with the microneedling).

Looks good. Hair grows at 1/2 inch per month so much of your native hair grew out to that length. If you have new hair growth which is suggestive in the fullness in the picture on the right, the new hairs will be much shorter than the native hairs at 3 months. Still, enough to increase the fullness

I’m cautious of the microneedling + Minoxidil success stories here only because it might be the case that they were strong responders to Minoxidil irrespective of the microneedling. I’m more interested in those who added microneedling to the protocol after some time on Minoxidil/min+fin alone. Anyone with some post history or experiences?

Microneedling will work by itself without minoxidil.

Can Dermarolling(Microneedling) make your scalp less suitable for Hair Transplantation Future?

I don’t believe that microneedling will make you less of a candidate for a hair transplant.

I saw many side effects in fin and minoxidil. I just want to use dermaroller for my hairline. Does this work?

There is good evidence that just microneedling and the wound healing that happens after that will produce hair growth without finasteride and minoxidil. The addition of those two drugs increase the effectiveness but are probably not critical to it.
