Can I get a transplant now? (photo)

I am 31 and have thinning on the top of my head as shown in the photo below. Can a hair transplant solve this problem for me now?

First, I would try drugs like finasteride and/or minoxidil. A hair transplant for such diffuse thinning doesn’t work well except make money for the surgeon. Set up a Personalized Master Plan with a good doctor and follow the plan

Can I Get a Proscar Prescription Over the Phone?

Hello, I am a 26 year old male and have thinning hair in the frontal and top-mid portions of my scalp. I am currently taking Hydrochorot and Lisinopril for hypertension. I would like to know if Finasteride (Proscar) will interfere while taking these hypertension medications? Also, I noticed in a prior blog, I can call(800)-NEW-HAIR to setup a phone consulation and be taken as a patient over distance, with photos provided. Would I be able to get a Proscar prescription this way? If not, can you recommend a hair specialist in Phoenix, AZ that will be able to help me?
Thank you.

You can see your family doctor or just check the yellow pages for hair transplantation and find a doctor. Also, the physician search at ISHRS.org is a good place to find a doctor. I will not prescribe it over the phone for someone I have not met, but I can give you an opinion.

Can I Get a Propecia Prescription From My General Physician?

Dr. Rassman,

I am a 35 year old man who has become very stressed at the thinning of my hair. I always had very thick hair, even into my late twenties, but now, I am receding and thinning in the front and on top. It has become very noticeable due to the way I like to style my hair. (gels, spikey, short messy look) I now use disguisers such as Toppik and Pro-thik.

After reading up on it a lot, I have decided to try finasteride. My question is, can I get a presciption from my general physician? I have also been reading up on HT but the process and cost scare me.

Any words of wisdom would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Your family doctor certainly can write the Propecia prescription for you.

You indicated that you live in New York — so before jumping into drugs and not really knowing what you are doing, see Dr. Robert Bernstein in Manhattan and let him map out your scalp for miniaturization. Then you will know if your have genetic balding and if the Propecia is helping.

Hair Transplant without finasteride?

I’m 24 year old with stable nw3 hairloss pattern. Is a hair transplant worth it if I cannot tolerate finasteride?
Many men will seek out a hair transplant if they can’t tolerate the drug finasteride. That works if you are not losing a lot of hair and developing an advanced hair loss pattern at the time you want to do a hair transplant. Hair loss patterns can be stable in some men, so a good surgeon will tell you what your situation might become for planning purposes. I certainly do that for all of my hair transplant patients under 30.

Can I get a Hair System after a messed-up hair transplant?

I’m a 30 yo guy who got a transplant a few year ago (but i’m NW6) – so yeah im still pretty bald and it looks crap. I dont fancy getting another transplant and was thinking of getting a hair system. Is it possible to get a hair system considering i have a (very light) covering of hair on top and an actual hairline now? I also have bad FUE shedding on back and sides (doner area) so not sure how this will blend with a system.

Too many men who made poor decision about hair transplant take the Hair System approach to literally burying the problem, but the problem will be there and made worse by the Hair Systems’ various attachment methods (clips, glues, tapes) which all pull out hair and make you balder. I have built a reputation over the years at fixing hair transplant messes and most can be repaired to bring you to a normal place and a normal look. Here is a photo of a known actor who was messed up and I fixed: https://baldingblog.com/actor-joe-penny-shows-off-his-repaired-hairline-with-photos/

Can I get 5000 FUE grafts? (photo)

There is a safe limit as to how many FUE grafts you can safely harvest before you get a see-through donor area. This post defines this according to your donor density: https://newhair.com/resources/#tab-id-4 Most people can’t support 5000 FUE grafts without getting donor site depletion

Can I Flatten a Keloid in Donor Area?

i had hair transplantation in 2001. I had only two small patches to cover them but during the surgery i shed too many hairs and now i have a large scar at the back of my head and also have kind of wounds in some of the transplanted areas where scab is formed and i keep scratching those areas(what to do to get rid of these wounds). The scar at the back is like a small Keloid, is there a war to get it removed or flatten with some steroid injection? Also tell me if i can have hair transplanted on the area from where strip was taken so that i can keep short hair and that area remains covered. If it is possible hair from which part of the body will be taken as i dont want to donate hair from the back of my scalp. Chest hair, shoulder hair etc will do the job. Thanks

Wow, this is pretty complicated. I really can’t give a proper response without at least pictures and I may need to even see you directly to see precisely what needs to be worked with.

Keloids may respond to steroids directly placed into the keloid if it is relatively fresh (past few months). Some people are keloid formers. You can always do FUE for hair transplants. Flattening them does not usually work. In your case, using body hair is a possibility.

Can I Even Out My Widow’s Peak?

Ok, I’m a 20 year old male, and I was born with a widows peek. Is there anything that can be done, to like, normal that out. I have never had hair on that part of my head and it’s beyond embaressing.

Norwood Class 4AIt is generally not a great idea to transplant hair into a non-balding 20 year old, because you must take into account the possibility that you might bald as you get older. Imagine that you got the right side evened out and then began balding to a Class 4A pattern. You would have a wing of hair where the transplant was done and then be bald to the Class 4A pattern.

You need to accept the premise that if you bald and have the frontal line fixed to your liking and desires, that you will be committed to transplanting behind it if you should lose the hair behind it so you will not look freakish.

Can I Eat Peanut Butter to Prevent Hair Loss?

Hey there I realize your very busy, but I was wondering, since hair is made of protein, do things like eating alot of peanut butter or whey protein shakes help prevent hair loss in any fashion???? Or would it even be harmful to the hair follicle???? Im 18 and trying to stop hair loss before it starts or gets too bad, I would APPRECIATE VERY MUCH if you would answer this question, THANK YOU :).

There is no connection with preventing hair loss by increasing peanuts in your diet. It’s not harmful… unless you put the peanut butter in your hair and then rip it out. If you want peanut butter health benefits, check out this page.

Can I Donate Blood While Taking Finasteride?

I read a few articles online and found out you cannot donate blood due to taking fin. This really upsets me because have a rare blood type and I feel great when donating my blood. Unfortunately, I’m going to choose my hair over donation

You can’t donate blood while you are on finasteride because if a pregnant woman got it, it would impact her baby.
