One Hair Transplant Changed His Image (with Photos)

This man wore a hat as often as he could. He has some pre-malignant skin changes on his bald scalp and the hat provided cover for it. His comb-over was as good as he could get for non-hat coverage and he didn’t like the way it looked. What did he do for a living? He is a make-up artist with a 30 year career working in many big budget movies and TV programs. Because of his career, he was self-conscious about his balding look and his comb-over. He knows almost every actor in Hollywood so he feels for those who are balding. Now, he proudly tells those people that he had a hair transplant, trying to help them find a similar solution (when appropriate). He received 1496 grafts in a single session just one year ago. Now, wanting to be slightly greedy, he will probably do it one more time to thicken the front so that in a bright light it will look thicker. His willingness to come forward and let me tell his story shows the character of a self-confident man.

One Doses of Propecia & Chest/Breasts Discomfort After 17 Hours

So I started Proscar (1.25mg for AGA) in a hope to prevent/slow down any possible hair loss (25 years old male with NW2, only a receded hairline and I have mid-back length of thin curly hair).

After my very first dose, I (after like 17 hours) felt some discomfort in the breasts/chest/upper abdomen, is this even possible? I gave it a try for 4 days and it’s still persisting (it’s not a full blown pain but rather a discomfort), I stopped the drug out of fear of Gyno, was this a sign of Gyno? This is my 3rd day off-drug and the discomfort is still there, what should I do? I really should take Finasteride and I am planning to restart it at 0.5mg once the discomfort resolves, is this the correct action?

If you believe you are having negative side effects, why would you want to continue the medication? The correct action is speaking to you doctor about this.

Anything is possible but it seems improbable. Gynecomastia from Propecia use takes several week if not months of use.

Finally a Norwood 2 is not generally considered balding and Propecia only treats the vertex (crown) area of the scalp – (not the front corners). We routinely offer actual tests to determine if you have genetic pattern balding routinely on every patient coming in to see us who are like you. We don’t want people on drug that do not need them.

One hundred and two days later on finasteride

Each man below has his own finasteride story, from good to bad

It’s been 102 days since I first expressed my excitement about hopping on fin. Lots of very negative comments, some supportive. But after 3 and a half months, on propecia I honestly could not be happier.

Major diffuse thinning as well as obvious recession at my temples…have all gone!

My temples and juvenile hairline are about 50% restored, my hair hasn’t looked this good and thick in many years

Man #2:

24 male. Been on minoxidil since 1.5 yr and finasteride since 5 months. But all I’ve grown if thin baby vellus hairs. Will these ever become terminal

Man #3:

I’ve been on Fin (1mg) around 45 days now and I’m thinking about stopping. My libido is very low and I can get an erection but not fully hard. I’m only 20 years old so I want to take care of my sexual health not worrying about ED in the future. I’ve got a visual bald spot and my hairline isn’t great, I’m very self conscious about my hair and I really wouldn’t look good being bald. So I’m not sure what to do, is there anything I can do for my hair that doesn’t require me taking Finasteride?

Is one hair transplant enough to restore a full head of hair?

There are many variables needed to address the question if one hair transplant is enough they include: The size of the balding area being treated, the hair thickness (fine, medium or coarse), the color contrast between hair and skin (e.g. Blondes do better with less hair moved in proportion to the balding area), the character of your hair (straight vs very curly), your goals (are they realistic?), the experience of the doctor and his/her team, the density placed at the recipient area. So if the bald area is small, then yes, one hair transplant can probably achieve reasonable goals.

One of the early finasteride studies here

https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0022202X15529357

“All three studies demonstrated that finasteride treatment led to a significant improvement in hair growth and slowing of further hair loss progression”. These studies included 1879 men ages 18-41

One month Dermaroller, Minoxidil and finasteride

It is hard to believe that this much hair came out in just one month treatment with dermaroller, finasteride and minoxidil. Hair length could have something to do with what we are seeing. Your before picture should have had the same hair length as the after picture
