Part of my hair turned white

Only part of my my hairs are white — the tip is black, the root is black, only 2-3mm of the hair near the tip is white. It’s odd. I assume it’s the part of the hair that was growing from the root around the time of the transplant. Does that make sense?

Yes, I believe your analysis is probable.

Pantogar

Dear Doctor Rassman,
I have been on propecia for one year. I want to ask you if I can take pantogar tablets (which is a supplement for hair loss and gray hair) along with propecia? Or will there be any negative interaction between them? Thank you vry much for your answer in advance.
Sincerely,

Pantogar capsules contain: Thiamini nitras 60 mg, Calcii pantothenas 60 mg, Cystinum 20 mg, Faex medicinalis 100 mg,Acidum paraminobenzoicum 20 mg, Keratinum 20 mg

I do not know about Pantogar, except for one article I found that seems somewhat credible: EHRS

As I have no first hand knowledge of it, I can not comment on any overlap with Propecia.

Patches of Hair Loss from Medication?

I am 31 years old, and I have noticed patches of my hair have been falling out in certain areas. Friends have noticed as well, especially right at the front of my forehead. I have been on birth control for several years ortho novum 777, and recently changed to a new pill this month called (low estrogen), due to medicine I am taking for seizures(Topamax) What can I take to help this? I don’t want my hair falling out. Please help me

Some of the medications you are taking can cause hair loss, but patches of hair loss on one side of your head indicate either an infection problem (like ringworm) or a condition called alopecia areata. You need to see a specialist for this. It is not for me (over the internet) to diagnose your problem, but it does need a competent medical expert.

Patent Switched from Topical Minoxidil and Finasteride to Oral Minoxidil with Regrets

I was prescribed 0.25mg oral minoxidil for hair loss. I stopped taking Finasteride and topical Minoxidil. I lost much of the benefits I had, including my gains from my previous treatments such as my frontal hair, my temples, and the hair in the crown, which had regrown with the topical Minoxidil. I regret ever switching the original treatment approach.

Patient Had FUE Well Beyond the Donor Area (Photo)

The problem I see in this patient is not only what appears to be excessive FUE depletion of the donor area, but that FUE extractions went well beyond the donor area into the crown and even the upper neck. Much of the hair extracted was too high in this man’s head or too low near the neck, which will not be permanent hair.

Patient’s Comment on Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP)

Dear Dr. Rassman: Had the 2nd of my three procedures today. Almost like a sculpture, it really now has started to take shape. Sure, I’ve looked at photos and seen real live guys at your Open House shows who’ve had this process, but there’s nothing like having SMP done to your own challenged head.

Once again, Kudos to the technicians who worker harder than stainless steal and have the patients of angels and Dr. Pak who stepped in mid-way and said: “Now it’s time to mail down your front hairline” which he did with the precision of a rocket shop landing on the moon.

But I do have one regret… which I expressed to your staff openly: “Where were you guys 40 years ago when I first coulda used this?

Dr. Rassman’s comment: This man started his hair transplant process too many years ago. He is now in his 60s and shaved his head for the procedure. He will eventually allow his hair to grow on top of the SMP. This type of comment occurs almost every day in our office. Scalp MicroPigmentation is one of the most satisfying procedures we have ever offered.
