Does microneedling at <0,5 mm depth really increase minoxidil absorption? The epidermis of the scalp is 0.5mm thick so if you microneedle at that depth or less, the epidermis has no blood supply so speak of and mainly contains keratin. There will be no benefit and no absorption at 0.5mm depth or less of any […]

If I microneedle weekly and use minoxidil and finasteride, when I get results, can I stop the microneedling? How often is best for microneedling? The problem with microneedling results is that we don’t know if they will stick around after the microneedling ends and if so how long. Most people using microneedling are using it […]

Was introduced to hair fibers by a family member which spark my interest in keeping my hair. I had been in denial about balding for a long time, and while I wish I had started sooner, I can say that I am happy with my progress in not even just retaining my hair, but even […]

The Daily Journal of Hair Loss Information | W Rassman M.D.

I’ve noticed some hair loss at the temples when I was about 17/18 and 3 years later it’s basically at the same level. Haven’t noticed thinning, hair at crown/on top is still fine. Is it possible for someone to lose a little bit of hair and for the balding to then stop for a (longer) period of time? Or will you always continue to lose hair, albeit it being at a slower rate? Cause if there is a chance my hair stays the way it is right now, I might be interested in a HT with +/-650 grafts to fix my hairline at the temples.

Bonus question: My hair at my temples was blonde, born that way. Rest of the head had brown hair. Is there any chance that that blonde hair might have been more easier affected by hair loss? Or just a coincidence?

Genetic balding is a progressive process that may stop when you achieve your inherited hair loss pattern but it can be reversed in younger men, sometimes for years but sooner or later a person with genetic balding will reach his final inherited pattern of balding. The different hair colors have nothing to do with what is happening to you.
