A balding bank clerk stole $43,000 from a client’s dormant account in Hong Kong to pay for hair loss treatments. The article says that the 32 year old man was “terrified of going bald and had already racked up debts of more than $16,000 on anti-balding treatments.”

Hey, I just have a few questions that everyone gives me different answers about, and I would really like to hear the right answer. First, I am 15 years old and am trying to grow a full beard. However, only some hairs grow and the others don’t. Will it take a few months for them to develop into a beard or should i quit and wait a few years because i hate the somewhat-beard look? Also, I have a little bit more hair than normal above my shaving line on the cheekbones. I have not shaved it off, but can I or will that make the hairs come out thicker and worsen the situation? Or should I just ignore it and it’ll get better over time? Appreciate if you could answer my questions. Thanx
The ability to grow a full beard will depend on your genes. If you are not destined to have a hairy face, then that is your fate. Look at your father, his father, your brother, and your uncles and you will get to see what you probably have in store for you. Beards take time to grow out and in boys of your age, it is not uncommon for the beard to be patchy. Mine did not fill out until I was in my early 20s and now it is much too full for me. There is no way to make your hair come out “thicker” or faster.

Till the end of last year there were only one or two white hairs in my mostaches but in the past few months they have increased to around 10 to 12.
I have also seen few white hairs in my nose.
Can you please tell me the probable causes and I will be thankful to you if you could advise me some treatment.

White hair in the scalp or any other area of the body usually follows a genetic pattern and you may have taken the gene of premature whitening of hair from your parents or grandparents or someone down the family tree. Some skin disorders like alopecia areata may cause growing white hair in involved areas after the disease has taken its course and hair regrew.

I have been using the Hairmax Lasercomb now for about 5 months and have noticed that my hair is thicker BUT not necessarily thicker from the root or epidermis.. It seems like it makes thin hair look thick but it still falls out at an alarming rate and still ACTS like thin hair. On some of the hair that falls out, you can tell that around the bulb area the hair is still thin-and then on other hairs, it looks thick all the way through which is encouraging. What is your reaction to this?
I am not sure if you are stating that you are seeing a benefit, even though your hair is falling out. If it is working for you, I am happy for you. If you can achieve the same (or better) thickening result from a product like Toppik, wouldn’t that be a cheaper solution?
I know that I tell everyone that they should get their hair mapped out for miniaturization to obtain a metric for change, and I’ll recommend doing so again — then you could put numbers to what you are telling me about.

Which do you consider are the best scientific conferences covering the latest developments in MPB treatment? Do you plan on attending any of these this year?
The best conference for the hair restoration industry is the meeting put on annually by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). The next meeting will be this coming September in Las Vegas. It has a board agenda, covering everything from drug and cloning breakthroughs, to changes in surgical techniques. I have been a teacher at these conventions every year since it was formed in 1994 (except for in 2001, due to the September 11th tragedy).

British scientists have just grown a heart valve from stem cells. Sir Magdi Yacoub, who led the team involved with the project, guesses that an entire heart may be grown using this technology in 10 years. Do you think that this advance will speed the process of hair cloning/multiplication any?
I am aware that stem cells can grow organs. Hair is an organ so if you can grow a heart, then one should be able to grow hair from stem cells. There are clinical trials presently underway that show stem cell placed in the heart, will grow heart cells.
