I have noticed many 60 years old men’s hair start getting thin and become sparse, revealing some of their scalp skin underneath, but is this the same thing as male pattern baldness that a lot of guys having during their 30s to 50s? Those old men have a more sparse hair compared to their younger self but is still not balding like those 40 year old men with male pattern baldness, are these two situations related? If an old man’s body produces less male hormone than young men, then is that mean the elderly thinning/balding are usually not caused by hair follicles’ DHT sensitivity? Could this also be inherited?

Thinning in men over 60 may have nothing to do with balding. Hair in men or women that get older may see their entire hair become finer. That would be genetically induced. Balding is unlikely to appear in a 60 year old man

Burried grafts from poor techniques often cause these bumps which most likely reflect burried grafts. If they get infected, they probably should be drained. Go back and see your doctor

The traditional compounding pharmacies do not approach it this way. They often create a liposomal formulation which keeps the drug at the skin level and doesn’t let it go into the body. I know that minoxidil is often absorbed into the body from skin applications alone, so I would suspect that the same would occur with finasteride dissolved in the minoxidil solution.

Hello, I am a 29 year old male who’s suffering from hair loss. I’ve recently been to a few consultants’ regarding hair restoration surgery in UK. Unfortunately the surgeries and the surgeons seem to be inexperienced in which I didn’t feel confident enough to go through with the surgery. Also they came across as more of sales man trying to sell me a car rather than be a respectable surgeon. Be careful not to generalize. There are immoral doctors who employ aggressive sales tactics in the United States also. There are good doctors in the UK who have good reputations and are not of the ‘used car’ variety. Please note the arrow which shows that there were soo many grafts that they didn’t get into the recipient sites with enough depth to grow in the long term. The technicians that did this in Turkey, must have felt it was a badge of honor to put soo many grafts into the recipient site. I doubt that this man needed this number, but more important, most of these probably will not grow. In addition, his risk of necrosis of parts of the scalp from blood supply interruption is high. Add to this a depleted donor supply, so that when the grafts don’t grow, there will be not enough hair for a good surgeon to fix his problem. I cried to this man who just tried to deal with some level of balding and got sucked into some bargain salesmen who took advantage of him, took his money and probably damaged him for life. Hi guys, i got this problem with my Beard. I used to have strong beard before minoxidil, which im using none-stop for the last 10 years. Now its growing too wild. My Beard is growing all the way up to the eyes area. Im shaving it every day to achieve normal beard Line. It became pain in the ass. I can see beard dots 3 hours from shaving. Super fast growth. I also have very soft skin, so shaving wounds my skin. I cant stop using minoxidil because i will loose all my hair gains. Any way to get around it? Maybe a shaving machine that shaves close? Or a laser hair removal? If any one had experience like that when using minoxidil i would like to heat.

Facial hair growth in places where you might not want it is a known side effect of minoxidil. Stopping it reverses it. It happened to my wife and she stopped it, and the facial hair went away.
