The response to finasteride is variable long term. Everyone is different. I tell people that it is a balancing act, balancing the positive benefits and the negative side effects against each other. The decision here is, therefore, yours to make. If you had ED problems that got worse, I would tell you to stop the medication for risks of PFS, but for people with increased sex drives, there is no evidence that prolonged use of finasteride is a problem.

I developed an infection and met with my doctor who put me on antibiotics. It seemed to get better. I am worried about it harming the grafts in the recipient area. Is that a problem?

It is hard to tell from the pictures if the infection is under control but your doctor will tell you that and you should see no significant pimples or redness. If the infection was promptly treated, it will not harm the grafts. The good news is I see early growth already.

Here’s a patient that reported continued growth of his hair transplants without going through the dreaded dormant phase that usually occurs for some time following the procedure. Now to be honest, the After photos were taken just under 2 years after the surgery so I can’t say I saw this instant (or continued) growth with my own eyes… but the patient is a doctor and is convinced that the reason he didn’t experience any fall-out was due to taking vitamin B2 and fish oils. When your original donor density is lower than average, 3000 grafts can be too many grafts harvested through FUE and this causes donor site depletion such that the donor area has a problem with a see-through look. The doctor should have measured your donor density before pushing large numbers of FUE grafts. For some people with very low donor densities, 2000 grafts could cause donor site depletion. It seems that in this situation, the surgeon could not get the entire 3000 grafts from the permanent zone, so the surgeon moved outside the permanent zone into the neck (which is not permanent hair) and possibly also above the permanent zone into another area that may sooner or later may bald. this is my grandfathers brother. I don’t have a picture of his crown but from this picture could tell me please if he’s a Norwood 6 or 7? I’m praying you will say 6.

Without seeing the back of his head I can’t be sure but from the sides, it looks like a Class 7 pattern. You need a Personalized Master Plan with a good hair restoration doctor. White hair generally does very well with transplants, especially if it has a medium or coarse hair texture
