The loss of eyelashes in men can be a genetic characteristic. It could be unrelated to male patterned balding. From what you wrote, that is what it seems like. Are there other men in the family line that also have loss of eyelash hair?

I currently have a full head of hair, but have noticed that my hairline continues to recede into a widow’s peak. I’m becoming increasingly self-conscious of this and recently bought rogaine to see if that will help. Has anyone here used rogaine for a similar problem and did it work? I read the warnings on the Rogaine box and it made me a little hesitant to use the product since my hair loss isn’t on the crown of my head nor do I understand why I’m losing hair (other than the fact that my maternal grandfather was bald).

See a good doctor to find out if you have a form of Alopecia that can cause the loss of body hair. Do not rush to transplantation without a good working diagnosis.

I have received a job offer that seams to good to be true. I responded to and add for an administrative assistant listing and at the interview they offered me a position as a hair restoration technician. I believe that I am under- qualified with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Business. Is it customary to only hire women technicians? How do I know if this job is legit?
Training for a hair transplant technician takes considerable time and to become proficient once the skills are learned, may take a few years. If the doctor has experience training technicians and you like the detailed work that is involved, then you can embark on this as a career move. I would hope that the doctor who offered you the position does not let you loose and expect that you will become an instant member of the surgical team, making many mistakes along the learning path. It often helps if you have some medical assistant training so you understand the sterile technique process.

This type of hair loss will almost certainly return in women. However, the hair along the incision may not fully return and may leave a visible scar. You will not know this until 6-8 months after your surgery. If you are a male, on the other hand, it is likely that the hair will not return if this is the result of an acceleration of your genetic balding, which is most often the case. For this reason, I don’t recommend hairline advancements for men for fear of accelerating genetic recession and genetic hair loss.
If you count the number of hairs in this follicular unit, you can see 4 hairs exiting at the skin edge, but the anagen hair just starting to grow has not reached the skin yet so there are at least 5 hairs in this follicular unit. This is why it is so important to use a high powered microscope to evaluate the ‘grafts’ when a hair transplant is done. We don’t want to waste any hairs, regardless of how small they appear because these tiny hairs will eventually grow up and be a full ‘terminal hairs’.

The reason why is i am booked to have a transplant with them in 5 months and i need an urgent analysis on wether it is a reputable clinic and what they are offering is acceptable. That clinic in the UK and a few others like it around the world call themselves NHI. There’s one in Australia and even a couple have opened here in California trying to piggyback onto our reputation by using similar names. There are laws and I could probably pursue action, but it is too expensive for me to try to enforce copyright laws around the world, but I have enforced it in the United States.
I don’t know of that doctor in the UK or his work, but I would question the clinic’s honesty and integrity if they claim to be affiliated with my practice (copying our name) and you may think twice about having them work on your head. Even if they don’t claim to be associated with the New Hair Institute, the fact that they try to create confusion about it is suspect. These NHI clinics are not affiliated with myself or the New Hair Institute. Truth is, I have turned down opportunities to spread my practice out to other parts of the world. The New Hair Institute (NHI) has only two offices in California.

I am a 39 year old man and had a problem with my eyebrows since I was probably in my 20s. My eyebrows aren’t very thick. I never plucked them and do not know why they appear thin around the edges or when it exactly happened ,but I wanted to talk to you about what a transplant looks like in that area for men. My hair is otherwise great on the scalp and I have a strong hairline. Have you done any man eyebrow transplants? Thanks
Here’s a male patient we haven’t shown before, with some beautiful eyebrow transplant results. I placed 189 grafts into his eyebrows with almost all single hair grafts taken from the scalp using follicular unit extraction (FUE).
In general, eyebrows are difficult to get control of the direction of the hair as it exits the skin, but these results turned out great! The after photo was taken about 7 months following his hair transplant.

In a Denmark Study, people who “redeemed five or more antibiotic prescriptions over the course of a 15 year period were much more likely to develop type 2 diabetes compared with those who took antibiotics’ only noe or two times. Other diseases were also appearing that may be the result of altering the bacteria in our intestine finding associations with “obesity, inflammatory and autoimmune disorders and even depression”.
Since the 1940s with the discovery of antibiotics, the focus was to kill all of the bad ‘germs’ in our body, but maybe we just killed off the good ‘germs’ in the process and without these good ‘germs’, we found ourselves with many other diseases. Children may have been over-treated causing more asthma and a tendency to obesity.
I have read much about the value of our ‘gut’ to help our immune system function properly. The learning curve is very steep at this time and it seems that in almost every medical journal now appearing, we are learning that our intestine is really a functioning part of our immune system, something I never learned in medical school.
I found myself being asked many times by patients to give them an antibiotic for a flu. I know it did not work against a virus, but the patients would demand antibiotics and although I may have been one of the few doctors who resisted such calls for antibiotics, I could not always stand my ground. So what I am telling you here is not to demand Antibiotics when you are not feeling well, as you might be harming yourself if you took them unnecessarily.
