The recent Journal Lancet, published a study revealing that the obesity epidemic is increasing the terrifying appearance of many cancers in young people. According to the article, there is an increase in cancer of up to between 50-80% in the following cancers: Uterine and esophageal, colon, gallbladder, kidney, liver, pancreas, upper stomach and brain membranes. For obese women, there is a 7 times increase in uterine cancer. Six of the listed cancers are rapidly rising in people ages 25-49 and the incidence is rising at a 2-6% rate yearly. There is a suggestion that reducing ones obesity may reduce the risk of some of these cancer.

I am not sure why you don’t have enough donor hair. I will assume that you had already exhausted your donor area and now want more hair or more fullness. This can be achieved with beard hair but it may have a different characteristic than your scalp hair. Body hair is a poor choice as it has less quality. I recommend Scalp MicroPigmentation as a good alternative for more fullness.

Loss of body hair occurs in patients on Propecia (finasteride) but not always. I suspect that the DHT block from the drug finaseride is not very effective on body hair in everyone and that is why different people see varying degrees of body hair loss. It is not unusual to get a decrease in body hair and if you take it long enough, maybe you will see complete loss of your body body hair.

I had hair transplant in 8 months ago.I noticed the new hair growing in the opposite direction compared to the original very early in the growth of the new grafts. The density is also a problem. People can tell something wrong with my hair. I tired style this with gels but I got tired of it & cant stand having hair anymore. What can I do?

The use of both of these topical medications is effective, as shown here; however, a considerable amount of both of these drugs go systemic. It would be easier to take them orally and then you would know the systemic component of the dosage.

A young man, about 30, went to 5 different doctors, and each performed a hair transplant. He changed doctors because the surgery failed each time, so he thought he would find a better doctor. There are many such diseases that fall into the field of autoimmunity, and a biopsy should be done to determine if he, indeed, has one of these diseases. His donor site is fully depleted, so more transplants are not an option. His scalp is scarred, so he now he needs to wear a hat – not a good option for his profession.

Can hair be lost because of change in location/water?

I can not imagine that either the geographic location where you reside or the water you drink will cause hair loss, unless you are stressed or there is something in the water. Though I’d expect if there was contamination in the water, your neighbors would have similar hair loss. Stress from a recent move can possibly cause hair loss.
