Can I fix my high hairline?
I’ve had an abnormal hairline from birth. It is at least one and a half inches too far back. I have to wear wigs and extensions to cover it all the time. How can this be fixed? Can my hairline be brought forward like everyone else in my family? I would love to be able to wear my hair back without bangs for a change.
High hairlines are common in women and men and moving them down is basically a surgical procedure. With progressive balding, moving the hairline down is best performed with hair transplants because if more balding occurs more transplants can solve the problem. For most women the hair transplant fix is permanent and they don’t have to worry about progressive balding so that (in most cases) a reverse brow lift type of surgery works best.

hi dr, ive read some on chemical castration, is there any way to produce the effects of castration that it has on your hair without actually doing it and so avoiding the other effects
Castration prevents hair loss because without testosterone, one can not make DHT and without DHT, balding does not occur. It is well known that removal of the testicles will prevent hair loss, but I have not seen anyone willing to take up this cure. Castration will not reverse what hair loss has already occurred, but it is the ultimate DHT blocker for preventing what may yet unfold. I do not know of a way to do what you’re asking though.

My Child Has A Weak Hair Line. Should I Be Concerned?
I noticed my son has a weak hairline at the temples. it’s hard to find information on the internet, but from what I gather, this could be his vellus hairs that will be replaced by terminal hairs at puberty.. Not sure if I’m being overly observant here, but I wanted to make sure it wasn’t an issue.
Hair lines are diverse and children’s hair line are no exception. Some babies are born without much hair and grow to have thick lush hair. Anything is possible and an overly observant parent may also be possible.
Follow up with your child’s pediatrician and express your concerns. There are other medical conditions that can impact hair as well. Please don’t let this last statement be a launching point for further Google search and a source for more confusion. The best advice is follow up with your doctor.

Having a hair transplant is not a solution if either the surgeon or the team or both do not have the skills to do the hair transplant properly. Your problem is not an uncommon problem. I would normally suggest that you return to your surgeon and ask him to make this ‘right’ with you. With such a failure, I don’t believe that I would trust your surgeon and their team to do this again. I would just ask for your money back. You may have to accept some degree of balding as your donor area may have been depleted enough, not permitting another FUE hair transplant. A strip surgery may yet be an option. See another doctor with experience, and find out what is left in your donor area as well as what, if anything, you can achieve with your remaining donor supply. No! Clogged pores do not cause hair loss but there are many people who believe this and will want to sell you some product or service to unplug your pores. Rip-offs are commonly presented by those who promote clogged pores.
Oral minoxiidl at 1mg, is this effective?
My derm prescribed me 1mg oral minoxidil as they wanted to evaluate the effects of the drug for a month before they increase the dose. I am wondering if 1mg is effective enough and if anyone has seen results when taking 1mg? I currently use topical minoxidil 2 times a day.
Since 60% of men will not respond to topical minoxidil, the oral works on 100% of men. The 1mg dose is a reasonable starting dose. Your dermatologist knows what she is doing.
