If Nikola Tesla Castrated Himself, Is That Why He Didn’t Bald?

I’ve read in a hairloss forum that Nikola Tesla castrated himself so he doesn’t get distracted from his research. Maybe that’s the reason he didn’t go bald. I’m amazed from what you can read today in the internet.

If one is castrated, they will stop their balding process where it was at the time of castration. Taking testosterone can reverse that, producing balding in men with the genetic traits for hair loss (even without testicles).

If Nikola Tesla was castrated (I am not sure about that), then he will not be balding… as shown in these photos at Neatorama. The man was a genius, but he looked like hell with considerable weight loss as he aged (as seen here). He did seem to maintain his hair pattern, even with the weight loss.

If you take Saw Palmetto with no sexual side effects, does that mean Finasteride is safer?

My doctor prescribed me saw palmetto before all the exams hormonal sperm ecc before starting fin …I started saw palmetto which lowers dht by 35% What i feel Is improved erection quality, my Dick Is hard as steel, more libido, and i experience getting hard during the day … Does this mean that if i use fin, probably i will feel the same ? Or even better?

Saw Palmetto is a weak DHT blocker while finasteride is a stronger one. I would expect that some people taking Saw Palmetto without sexual side effects might be better on finasteride.

I’m 17 and Need a Hair Transplant

But is there anyone in Southeast US willing to do transplants on 17 year old? I have nothing good going for me, I’m not responding to Minox and my dermatologist refused me finasteride so I’m fucked, I tried Nizoral and it didn’t do much, both of my temples are thin but my right temple is missing and the skin seems somewhat scarred for no reason, my hair is so thin at the sides that I can actually see my scalp and so can make out it’s cracked texture. Is there anything I can do until then?

Please don’t look for a hair transplant at 17. This could be the worst mistake you can ever do. If you keep looking, you will find a sleazy doctor to do it and you will regret the decision for the rest of your life.

1.5 months on finasteride (photo)

Thanks for lifting your eyebrows and allowing your forehead to show the creases. 1.5 months is too early to see results but there are small hairs on the left side which appear stronger than they were in the before picture so this is a hopeful sign.

I’m 20 and My Forehead is Growing

Dear Dr. Rassman,
hair loss started when i was 15, now that am 20 it got worse, and my forhead got bigger due to hair loss, what are the possible causes and treatments for that?

This is most likely genetic male pattern balding. You need to getyour hair mapped out for miniaturization to make the diagnosis and then possibly consider medications like Propecia.

I’m 23 and Want a Little Hair Transplant Now

I’m 23 and 6 months old at a nw 2.5 right now. I’m not trying to get a full hair transplant back to square one but maybe one to fill in my temples a little more. Would I have to wait till 25?

You need to find a good doctor who can predict your long term balding pattern. I tell people that a little transplant is like being a little pregnant, no such thing. The impact of a hair transplant, regardless of its size, is significant on your long term future (see here: https://baldingblog.com/need-master-plan-think-hair-transplants-photos/. ). I think that as you look at this picture, your plan should be worked with an honest and capable doctor who can tell you more about you than you know, including getting a HAIR CHECK test ( https://baldingblog.com/haircheck-test-how-it-is-done-and-what-its-value/ ).

10 Months After My 5th Transplant, I’m Not Seeing Any New Growth

I had a transplant about 10 months ago. I can feel the stubbles since back then but it doesn’t seem to grow. It’s now 10 months later and it’s still the same. I had transplants before and almost very quickly, i would notice the thickening and darkening from the previous procedures.

This last procedure was my fifth and don’t seem to see a good result at 10 months. By this time my the transplanted hair should be maturing, correct? I now have about less than 3000 grafts done. Each procedure done in the past, the doctor could never extract enough donor. Perhaps it’s my donor area. Any thoughts?

At 10 months following your hair transplant, you should definitely see growth. Unless I am misreading your question, if you had five procedures that totaled under 3000 grafts, that is not today’s standard of care… however, I can not judge what your doctor was doing.

I’m not even sure what kind of surgery you had — strip or FUE. Plus, I don’t know if he was chasing your hair loss, if you were on finasteride, what your scalp laxity was, etc.

Have you talked to your surgeon about why there’s been no growth after 10 months? If you need a second opinion, you can either schedule a visit in my office or see another good doctor if I’m not local to you.

I’m 29 and I Think I Have ED?

I am a late 20’s male and I had a question regarding some finasteride side effects.

I was on minoxidil foam for about 6 months, but because of the shedding not stopping and seeing drastic hair loss during the last 2 months, I decided to bite the bullet and try finasteride 1mg. I’ve been on it for about a month and I think I am definitely starting to feel the side effect of erectile dysfunction.

Let me preface this by saying that I’ve never been someone who could have sex 4-5 times in a night or even felt the need or urge to masturbate once a day. I’ve also experienced occasional (once every 10-20 times) instances of not being able to stay hard during intercourse. However, the struggle recently has been something that is definitely noticeable and significant. I recently started dating someone in the last few weeks and I’ve already ran into issues of erectile dysfunction multiple times, which is a lot more frequent than ever before. However, the most alarming issue is during masturbation. I’ve NEVER struggled to stay erect during masturbation, but after starting finasteride, I’ve noticed that I am struggling to even get erect and stay erect for more than a minute. In regards to sexual intercourse, luckily I’ve had some viagra that I acquired a long time ago and I’ve used that a few times to combat this issue, but I don’t see that as a permanent solution.

Has anyone experienced something similar to this before? If you did, did you just stop or continue to take finasteride to see if it will pass?

From what I’ve read, it seems like most of you all have had little or no side effects from taking finasteride 1mg daily so I wanted to see if any of you are avoiding finasteride and finding success.

Your story is not uncommon. You probably have sexual side effects from finasteride. You might try reducing it to one pill every 4 days for 3 weeks. If the ED goes away, increase it to 1 pill every 3 days, and after another 3 weeks, one pill every two days and stay there if there is no ED. Half the dose is 80% as effective on hair as a full dose. Just a suggestion.
