In Turkey, the surgeon supervises the FUE
a little more info about the doctor, he’s from Istanbul/Turkey. even though he has license, his assistants will do the actual operation while he supervises. do you think this is a huge red flag? most hair clinics in Turkey operate in the same way and there are so many of them to choose from.
The question is really is he really over-viewing the surgery and the details of how it is being done, Who determines the distribution of the FUE grafts as they are taken out one-by-one. I’l bet he is not involved in that level of granularity and that is where the problems arise with the terrible photos I posted here: https://baldingblog.com/?s=over-harvested+photo . In my office, only the surgeon is doing the FUE so 100% of the decision are made by the surgeon as each graft is excised so we never they the type of problems shown in the reference here.

Hair Loss Information – Balding Blog
Reader Tom asks…
My hairline has been receding for a number of years, I am now 62 and recently had a heart attack. It seems to me that the hair loss has accelerated since that trauma. My hair now has sort of a trough down the middle that was not there before, but it was thinning. My question is, Can a heart attack cause acceleration of hair loss and can hair replacement techniques be employed to reverse it? Thank You
Hi Tom, thanks for writing.
There are generally four causes of hair loss in men. Genetic inheritance and male hormones are the two most important. Time and stress are the other two. Typically, genetic hair loss occurs well before 35 years of age, and in most people it slows down with time. There are some older men who start showing the hair loss over the age of 45, although this is more the exception to the rule. Don Ameche, a popular film actor in the 1930s and 40s, was a hairy sex idol even at the age of 50, but was bald at the age of 75 when he had a prominent role in the movie Cocoon. So, he had an ‘expression’ of his genetic balding late in life. Your heart attack certainly brought on ‘STRESS’ and with a delayed genetic expression, probably precipitated your hair loss. I have seen this in illness or even divorce, both of which are heavy stress induced initiators for hair loss in the genetically prone man.
As your hair loss is recent, I would probably recommend that you go on the drug Propecia, because continued hair loss is possible. This drug may slow or stop the progression of the hair loss and it might even reverse it. If it does not do the trick, then a hair transplant works wonderfully.
Hope this answers your question.

Could I inherit my grandfather’s hair loss pattern?
Say the only person in my family with hair loss is my grandpa, but he mostly receded at the front and temples. If I inherited it from him, would I have the same type of hair loss? Also, my hair is nothing like his, it was straight, black and very thick before balding, whereas mine is light and frizzy much more like my other grandpa who had no hair loss.
Answer: The character of your hair is different from a genetic approach than the balding pattern which you may have inherited from your grandfather. If your pattern is the same as his pattern when he was your age, then it is likely that you will have his pattern of balding.

There are several other publications also on sulforaphane, an isothiocyanate which has been extensively studied in relation to the hair follicle as well as other systems (such as cancer prevention): Example: Sulforaphane (SF maintains HF proliferation and active hair growth (anagen) during oxidative HF damage (Haslam et al. 2016). This compound is present in broccoli and can be found in tablet form sold as cancer preventative, increasing energy etc. I’m surprised no one is selling it yet to promote hair growth. In the meantime tell everyone to eat broccoli! (comments by Nilifer Farjom MD)

34 and Now Facing My Hair Loss for the First Time (From Reddit)
The loss of 120 lbs can cause any genes for hair loss you have to express more quickly. Don’t mess around with it and see a good doctor who specializes in hair. You need to get it addressed properly as hair loss in men is genetic and progressive. The earlier you treat it, the better.
