I am 24 years old guy who started losing hair 2 years ago I remember not long time after the girl I loved left me for another guy, anyways I’ve been obsessed with my hairloss for a long time, it was killing me mentally everyday, and making me depressed and sad, losing will and motivation to do anything in life. I have been using Finasteride since 07.08.2018(exactly year ago). and I missed a dose or two over a whole year. Final review? It didn’t work for me unfortunately . I’ve lost a lot more hair then I had exactly a year ago. I have always seen comments on this site, over this year for how long I’ve been on it, comments like “I never saw a thread from some guy saying he still lost hair on Finasteride, everybody halts hairloss or even regrows, Finasteride works like 100%”. Well then I didn’t make it brothers, sadly…. Maybe I should consider Dutasteride?

You have to have a good doctor to discuss this with. Dutasteride is something that many doctors don’t prescribe because it is not FDA approved for hair loss. Have you considered what you would do if dutasteride didn’t work? A good doctor can keep hair on you, one way or the other. Hair transplants always work as an option that many take.

?The law in most states forbid a surgeon from a guarantee for any surgery. Think about it, if you had cancer and your surgeon guaranteed that he would cure you, that is impossible and illegal. So a hair transplant is the same thing; however, any good doctor should warrant his work regardless of the fault. If there is some failure of any part of the hair transplant process, or any complication that should arise, I am always good to make it right. I want patient satisfaction 100% of the time

There are many factors that could produce this type of result including the presence of diseases of the scalp, DUPA. or bad techniques of the surgical team. Clearly, you must do your homework before undergoing any type of hair transplant

It seems like a great step forward in generating new hair from stem cells.

This is terrific research showing the hair can be grown from stem cells. This has been done before and when it was transplanted as shown in the photograph, the hair grew in all direction and eventually killed the mice from infected ingrown hairs. It is no small challenge to get all of the hair lined up at the top of the dermis so that they break through the epidermis just as a new hair grows in when it comes out of telogen (sleep phase) and into anagen (growth phase). The challenge in front of this breakthrough is no small chore, but from the economics shown in the article, the reward for any company solving the mystery might make that company very rich!

Let’s hope the research can branch further into a clinical model in humans. If you’re wondering how long this may be… I don’t know.

hey doctor. I’m just wondering if I have a mature hairline or is it more? my hairline has certainly changed from when I was 18. also I cannot understand why one side seems to be receding more than the other and has been for years! I have naturally thin hair.

I have attached a picture that tracks my right side for over 2 years. a recent picture with my hair wet and also with a styling product in and then the left side which does not seem to change. you can use this for you site if you like.

Some men do not bald symmetrically, and in your case, that seems to be what is happening. The left side appears to be a mature hairline and the right side appears to be beyond just the mature stage. Propecia is a good drug to help slow down the process, though I wouldn’t expect regrowth there necessarily.

Since you indicated that you’re in the UK, I would suggest visiting a specialist like Dr. Bessam Farjo with offices in London and Manchester, so you can get an expert opinion on your hair loss situation.

Male pattern balding with recession is often asymmetrical. The side that is behind will often catch up with the more receded side.
