Is topical finasteride superior to oral finasteride?

I don’t believe that topical finasteride is superior to the oral finasteride. From what I have read, the question has always been, ‘Is it as effective to the oral finasteride‘.

Is Too Much Vitamin B12 Causing Hair Loss?

I have been taking vitamin b12 at 1mg daily of the sublingual tablets. Is this considered a megadose? I have noticed better mood and even skin tone. However, I have also noticed more hair shedding and fallout. Do you think this could be related? Could taking too much b12 cause hair loss? I thought excess of these vitamins were just passed out through urine? Thanks.

Vitamin B12 at those doses should not cause hair loss. That isn’t a megadose. There’s a lot of B12 info that I found at VeganForum.com (via Google). But as for hair loss, I’d look elsewhere for the diagnosis… like genetic causes.

Is this Traction Alopecia?

I am a 21 year old female suffering from traction alopecia. Unfortunately, due to my work I have to wear my hair in tight ponytails. I believe this has caused me to lose hair around my temples. What are my options ?

I would like to know if it is present on the other side as well. Sometimes a condition called Triangular Alopecia can cause a pattern of hair loss like this, but not as large. As your history is consistent with traction as a cause, then a hair transplant is the perfect answer, regardless of the cause.

Is this soccer player balding?

I don’t like this soccer payer’s hairline as the corners go up too much. My corners do not go up so high. What do you think? https://static1.purepeople.com/articles/9/60/29/@/20727-zinedine-zidane-637×0-1.jpg

I think that he has developed a normal mature hairline. Don’t obsess about keeping your juvenile hairline if you are under 29, it may just follow the same pattern as this man.

Is this news release real for cloning hair cells?

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/science/2019/06/28/hair-grown-skin-using-stem-cells-breakthrough-could-cure-baldness/

Based on what I understand about their technology, the article significantly overstates things. Several other big skin groups are trying to make human hairs from cells, but it is very hard and hairs are not desirable scalp hairs.

Is this miniaturization?

No, what you are seeing is normal thickness ‘terminal’ hairs. The small hairs are vellus hairs and they are normally present in high numbers.

Is this hairline too low? (photo)

A hair transplant surgeon is always motivated to meet his patient’s agenda. I have done such hairlines in men when pushed to do so. Many were actors that had an image that they needed. The fact that it could be done is critical and other than being very low, it still has a gentle V-shape and is found (at the mid-line) in his juvenile hairline position. Many people would find such a hairline too low. (taken from Reddit post)
