This is another Turkey patient who was over-harvested. The amount of hair taken from the donor area exceeded what the donor density would support, a common problem when FUE grafts are pushed higher and higher. To make matters worse, the non-permanent zone was harvested as well, so many of the grafts that were harvested are not permanent and will eventually fall out if they grow at all. The only solution, a good one for the donor area scarring, is Scalp Micropigmentation, but it will not address the non-permanent hair that was transplanted.
Harris SAFE System
Do you have an opinion of Dr. James Harris and the Harris Safe System located in Colorado? Thank you.
His method of doing follicular unit extraction (FUE), which he calls the Surgically Advanced Follicular Extraction / SAFE, works well in his hands. Dr Harris is a creative person and a competent hair surgeon.

Hare Club for Men – Gummy Candy
Try Hare Club for Men, where you can get a nice hare to show off to you friends. The Hare Club for Men package includes 10 Gummi Bunnies and a fun collectible sticker in the fancy box shown below. About 300 calories for the whole box and zero grams of fat, it works for the diet conscious person. Our society exploits the balding process as illustrated here in this cartoon. Some of my readers are too intense so this entry will better prepare you for the more serious entries below.
Oh yes, this candy is legit and although I can’t find any mention of it online, I do know from the box that it is a seasonal Easter candy made by a company called Galerie out of Kentucky. I thought people would get a kick out of it… Ha!

Har Vokse
I was just curious about the new product “Har Voske”, their claims are that “in clinical studies it was shown to stop hair loss and promote regrowth in 90% of participants.” Have you ever heard of this product and would you happen to know if it is FDA approved or even effective?
Thank you.
“HÃ¥r Vokse” literally translates from Norwegian to “hair grow”. The product site says it is a blend of “marine polysaccharides”. There’s more than a few products out there that use these fish proteins and offer claims of hair loss treatment, but I would doubt that it actually does what its name implies.
There’s no FDA approval for this (or any supplement like it, since it isn’t required). The most well known product like it is probably Viviscal, and I wrote about that one many years ago here.
Finally, the site talks about a study published in the Journal of international Medical Research, but I can’t locate the study to see what they’re referring to.

Happy patient with photo results
This man worried through the entire growth phase of his new hair growth until one day he looked into the mirror and saw himself as shown here. I always tell patients that you can’t watch your hair grow like you can’t really watch the grass grow, yet one day you step back and see a green lawn when you planted the seeds correctly just like a good hair transplant that just appears perfectly normal. What is important to note is the hairline, which is not a line, but a subtle zone before the thicker hair from the transplant fills in behind this transition zone which is made of irregularly placed single hair grafts (about 400 in this man).
