Cosmetic Follicle Therapy?

What’s your thoughts on the procedures on Cosmetic Follicle Therapy?

I believe the procedure is to take a sample from your head (where there is hair). Take it to the US have it replicated 50-70k times. What this means is match with synthetic hair of some sort. Then attach it to the burn skin material and then place it on the balding part of your head. Similar to a system or wig type piece but more refined.

Do you know and understand this type of treatment?

Thanks

Burned skin? Implanting artificial hair is dangerous (due to scarring, infection, and irritation)… and not legal in the US. I’ve warned people about artificial hair implants on this site for over half a decade now. If you’re suggesting that some company is creating 50-70k real hairs in a lab and re-implanting those, well, that technology doesn’t exist.

It’s more likely an expensive hair system, and if that’s the case, the name would be the only thing unique about it. I’m hoping you’re just misunderstanding what some company is offering, though. If they are trying to sell you on having your hairs cloned in a lab, it’s a scam.

Corrective Hair Transplant Questions

dr.rassman, hello. as a former patient i cannot give you enough praise for the corrective work you did on my scalp. my reason for writing is to ask a couple of questions. first, can my old punch style grafts, be redistributed to create a softer look? secondly, can my donor area which is according to you less than a 2 be used to soften and thicken my hairline. i still wear a hair system behind my frontal hairline about 2 inches back. i am afraid of my donor area being bald yet i want a softer look in front to disguise my system. i would stop wearing a hair system but i now have a medium sized bald spot on top and i don’t see a way of covering it up with a very small amount of donor hair left. dr. can you help me? maybe i can fly in to california and have a procedure done to correct my first 2 questions.

People who have depleted donor areas are very difficult to treat. Yes, you can redistribute hair from the old plugs that you received years ago. What you must do is define your problems and your goals, then prioritize them, then visit me or some other competent doctor who can address your problems. Without seeing how you look today, I can not reassess your situation with the new tools and techniques that are now available.

Correction – Propecia is Like Testosterone?

hi, doctor in one of the topics you said propecia is like testosterone. here is the link

I thought finasteride wasn’t a steroid hormone.

Thank you for pointing that out. It was an error in our part, and I guess it went unnoticed for nearly 6 years. It should have stated DHT (not Propecia) is like testosterone in that it is one of the male hormones.

We have corrected it. Sorry for the confusion.

Coronavirus in Pictures, The Story Jumps Out

From these photos I took off of the internet, the suggestion is that the virus was in Bats, frogs or snakes eaten by people in China. Then the Virus mutated to spread similar to many of the Flu viruses which propagate through saliva and our breadth. We breath out the virus and spread it before it becomes symptomatic and that is what is dangerous about this particular virus (we don’t know who has it for a few days until symptoms appear). Some people will almost certainly be carriers of the virus, never developing symptoms which is not atypical for this type of virus. UPDATE as of 21/29/2020 Recent reports indicate that the incubation period is 3 days from exposure to symptoms.

Corner hairline transplants 8 years ago (photos)

This is a 44 year old male who had a juvenile hairline in 2010 when he came in as the corners were eroding. He didn’t like that and although I rarely will transplant these corners, I did on him because he was 36 and still had his juvenile hairline. Today he came in with a complaint of some increasing hair loss on his right side just outside the area that was transplanted in 2010 which shows nicely on the first photo. The left side has held nicely since that 2010 surgery.

I performed a HAIRCHECK test on him which showed that his hair population is now 80% of what it was 8 years ago, so he is losing hair in the first 3 inches of his hairline (what I call the frontal area). He has been on Avodart since 2010 and this recent hairloss, has occurred while he was on this drug. He wants his juvenile hairline back with its tight look. I agreed to do this and also recommended that he address the 20% thinning in the frontal 3 inches with Scalp Micropigmentation. The pictures below show what was done on the day of the surgery.

Corner hairline thinning and doctor’s malicious attempt to extort money from this patient (with photos)

This 22 year old, very obsessed with a very early thinning of his right and left corner hairline, went to a doctor before seeing me. The doctor recommended 1500 grafts for him. In my opinion, there was not way that such a recommendation was warranted because (2) he was too young to have a hair transplant, and (2) if he was over 26, it will would not require 1500 grafts other than for the doctor to pay his car expenses. There seems to be a license by doctors to victimize patient at will, and as a patient comes in holding the doctor in great esteem, this is a full abuse of his license and his profession. I condemn this practice, all too common by doctors in this field of hair transplantation. In the photos you can see marginal thinning and with his hair shaved, some thinning is clearly present. This will be best treated with finasteride which will probably reverse the process but unfortunately, the doctor won’t make any money for prescribing this medication

Cord Blood Rejuvenates Old Blood

Multiple articles have been appearing in scientific and medical journal lately that show that the infusion of blood from young people into older people can improve brain function in people with aging diseases of the brain including dementia. In the recent issue of New Scientist, a small article reflecting work done at Stanford University in California where human blood was collect from people of different ages and then the plasma was infused into mice whoch were, in human terms, 50 years old. The greatest effect was seen when human cord blood from babies umbilical cord was used. The mice learned better and faster and show enhanced activity in the part of the brain called the Hippocampus, the part of the brain responsible for learning and memory.

CoQ10 and Finasteride

Dear doctor, this site has been helping me and guiding me a lot about hair loss. I suggested my brother to start Propecia 3 years ago and with doctor’s prescription he started it and has really been doing very well. Propecia controlled his hair loss and he even got some reversal. He was very happy about it till 2 months ago, where he was prescribed COQ10 by one of his endocrinologist. He started reading all kinds of information regarding COQ10 interactions with finasteride and found this article.

He became so nervous about parathyroid tumor they mentioned in that web site. He is blaming me for suggesting such drug to him now. He has been taking Co-enzyme 10 since 2 months and is worried a lot whether the parathyroid tumour has already started. Please please help him with his anxiety. Do they really interact with each other? What is the solution for such problem.? Your reply will help him get rid of his anxiety.

The COQ10 interaction is news to me. Although I doubt a parathyroid tumor connection, if that is one of his worries, he should seek medical attention to calm his fears. Parathyroid tumors can be diagnosed if he has one.

Copper Peptides for Follicular Enlargement?

Have you ever heard of copper peptides for follical enlargment, hair growth, wound and scar tissue healing? Is there anything to it?

skinbiology.com

thanks

That site suggests that if you have guinea pigs, pigs, rabbits, rats, dogs, and a few other mammals, that they can repair their tissues and possibly live longer. I am not sure that I want my 14 year old dog to outlive me, but perhaps that’s just me.

I actually have used copper peptides to reduce the degree of redness in wounds in those people who are prone to get red after a scratch or surgery. Originally, the company claimed that it accelerated hair growth after a hair transplant, so we tried that on a number of people and did not find that it worked as a growth accelerator. The observation of reduced redness is what called my attention to some value for the compound.
