You have a Class 4A pattern of balding with a persistent frontal forelock. The balding is behind the forelock, and the forelock looks strong. For instance, a man can lose almost all of his hair and still keep his forelock. Since you reported that you are 42 years old, I think this is the case with you, but I would need to examine your forelock to see just how permanent it is and to see if there is any miniaturization in it. Weak forelocks show miniaturization, while strong ones do not. I would transplant the area around your forelock to complete the frontal hairline if your forelock is strong in addition to the area behind the forelock.

It is always interesting to know that you are not alone when you are worried about hair loss. 4000 grafts taken from the donor area pushes the donor area’s ability to support such a large procedure when the donor density is lower than average. The donor area seems to have been over-harvested, in other words, too many grafts were taken from your original donor density. The grafts were also taken too high and too low from the donor area so that these hairs may not be permanent. I recommend you speak with your surgeon.

Some doctors just push numbers to make money when they do FUE grafting. I believe that this is such a case I picked up on the internet which shows some patient victimized by too many FUE grafts.
