Balding Pattern is now a Class 5 at 33

I’ve seen balding since I was 20, now 33M, NW V. I took intermittently min/fin for periods of no longer than 6 months, with noticeable results. Then skipped the treatments due to laziness. I now decided to go all-in for the very last time before I decide to get a hair transplant. I am doing religiously min, fin, biotin, zinc, saw palmetto and vitamin D daily; ketoconazole twice/three times a week; dermarolling 1.5 mm once a week. Do you think it will reverse?

At 33, the drugs rarely reverse a Class 5 pattern of balding.

In just one day we repaired this man’s surgical scar and filled in a very thin crown area

I love doing Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP) because at times, the results are instantaneously amazing as it was today. Leave aside some mild pink color to the area of the scar that was just treated (it will be gone tomorrow), he was blown away by the disappearance of his scar from two hair transplant procedures in the past and the apparent fill-in of his crown with just the SMP pigments. Scarring like his is unusual and occurs in only a few patients who have stretchable skin (with high elastin collagen). He said his crown looked as good as if he has another hair transplant today with instant growth.

I Am 32 Female and My Hair Is Thinning Even Though I Have Been Treated with PRP for Two Years.

You have obvious thinning. With the failures of PRP to effectively treat your hair loss and assuming that you have been fully evaluated for hormone and other deficiencies, you might want to consider Scalp Micropigmentation, which is an excellent cosmetic treatment for this condition. See here: https://scalpmicropigmentation.com/smp-for-women/

3000 grafts not enough, why? (Photo)

Assuming that all of the grafts grew, your may have fine or very fine thickness hair. The total hair bulk needed to cover these areas are probably insufficient to get the density you want with the length of hair showing. Alternatively, if your hair is medium weight or thicker, it is likely that many of the grafts just didn’t grow. To get a fuller look, (1) longer hair will give you more hair bulk if your hair is fine, (2) more hair grafts will help for fine hair, or (3) if the hair transplant failed to grow all of the grafts, then another hair transplant would be a good idea, possibly with another surgeon, and (4) Scalp Micropigmentation can make the hair look fuller. You didn’t show the hairline so I can’t comment on that.

I had 3000 FUE grafts and I am worried about my donor area (photo)

When your original donor density is lower than average, 3000 grafts can be too many grafts harvested through FUE and this causes donor site depletion such that the donor area has a problem with a see-through look. The doctor should have measured your donor density before pushing large numbers of FUE grafts. For some people with very low donor densities, 2000 grafts could cause donor site depletion. It seems that in this situation, the surgeon could not get the entire 3000 grafts from the permanent zone, so the surgeon moved outside the permanent zone into the neck (which is not permanent hair) and possibly also above the permanent zone into another area that may sooner or later may bald. The only treatment for this is scalp micropigmentation, something we do all of the time. https://scalpmicropigmentation.com/ This technique can make your donor area LOOK normal but it will not put more hair there

30 Years Old, Thinning at Frontal Hairline.

Recently I’ve started to notice my hairline thinning (I guess its about time at 30 years old) but not receding. Its by no means bad, and the top, back, sides of my head are still thick. Having done research on typical alternatives, it seems to take fin for just hairline thinning and no recession might be overkill. I could use minoxidil but applying it 2 times a day for the rest of my life is a pain. Is the solution for those of us with a thinning hairline, but not receding, and OK everywhere else (hopefully…!) a hair transplant?

If you are in or near Southern California, visit me. Topical finasteride might be a reasonable solution, provided we are sure that you are not balding elsewhere on your head. That is why I would perform a HAIR CHECK test ( https://baldingblog.com/haircheck-test-how-it-is-done-and-what-its-value/ ) first to make sure that there is no undetectable balding elsewhere.

I am 30 years old and want to know how many grafts it would take to fill in my crown (photo)

Knowing that you are 30 years old and assuming that your hair is of a medium thickness (not fine or coarse), it would take about 1800 grafts to fill in this area. More if it were fine, less if it was coarse. The crown is where the hair changes direction, so a good swirl needs to be created which takes more grafts. Thank you for putting your fingers in the photo so it give me a good way to estimate the size of the balding area
