can family members donate their hair follicular for patients who want to have a transplant?

No, hair from one person can not be moved to another person unless they are identical twins. A hair transplant from another person would be like a heart, liver, or kidney transplant and without powerful medications, these organs will be rejected by the body.

  1. Emeel – When you transplant an organ from a family member to another family member, it requires anti-rejection medication. Hair transplantation isn’t a lifesaving procedure, and these anti-rejection medications create a whole other set of side effects. The risk isn’t worth the reward.
