Hair is Growing in Different Directions on Each Side of My Head – Hair Loss Information – Balding Blog

hello,
on one side of my head the hair grows normally downwards to form a sideburn but on the other side my hair grows sidewards towards the back of my head. This starts from my facial area and continues in a sidewards movement to an inch above my ear. have you come across such an odd pattern before and is there anything i can do about it? I have put a link up to Hairfinder where i posted a message and a sketch about my problem. http://www.hairfinder.com/hair2/follicledirection.htm

Thanks

Everybody is different. Yes I have come across men and women with hairs growing in different directions, though the facial hair growth is generally found in my male patients. It is genetic, so thank your mom or dad for passing that on to you. There’s really nothing you can do except try conditioning your hair (even facial hair).

  1. It is not genetic at all, i used to have both of my sides on my head growing hair downwards, but once i made the mistake of going to a new barber and while shaving my head, he ended up using it in all directions, rather then the proper downward shave, that caused my hair to grow in weird angles(one side towards my forehead, the other towards the back of my head,) you gotta get a razor and shave down hard the direction you want the hair to grow, looks alot better if you go completely bald too

  2. no its definitely not geneticsi myself , on the right side have hairs that grow in different directions but it was only after i slept on it and left it like that for a while now its sort of permanent
