I really don’t know how much clearer I need to be about this. I have nothing to gain by lying to you.

Hair loss isn’t related to masturbation. Your genetics caused your hair loss. The link between masturbation and hair loss is a myth. There is no cure for hair loss.

  1. LMAO @ the question. but all in all, in my opinion I think the only way masturbation can cause hairloss is if you have the genes for hailoss. Basically, if one has the genes for hairloss, I think masturbation maybe can accelerate it. Again, I don’t have any evidence for my claim, just an opinion, and I can be wrong.

  2. I am waiting for the pro-masturbation crowd to accuse Dr Rasmann (“with respect”) of some nefarious ties to the anti/masturbation lobby and for dismissing this theory based on the “massive” amount of blog post testimonies.

  3. I recall seeing an article a long time ago with an Italian Endicrinology Professor stating that not having sex for several months can reduce testosterone to pre-puberty levels. I believe this was in reference to a discussion about the myth that having sex before athletic events reduces testosterone. So theoretically, there may be something to it.
On the other hand (literally), I don’t understand the point of these questions. Are we to give up every enjoyable thing in life that involves possibly increases testosterone to save our hair?

  4. LOL! I bet the majority of these masturbation = hair loss questions are coming from India. One of my close friends is Indian an he told me over there it’s a pretty widespread belief that masturbators lose their hair. Haha

  5. Given that masturbation has been consistently shown to raise testosterone levels, it is not unreasonable to think that it could exacerbate hair loss rates, at least marginally. I’m not really sure from what sources Dr. R pulled this information.
