My beard was transplanted perpendicular rather than normal!

Im considering another beard transplant but am worried it will leave scars on my face – can this be fixed to look more natural? will it leave scars on my face if the hair angles get re implanted? Alternatively im also considering Laser HR on my face but im worried there will be noticeable scars when fully removed? advice please?

You can remove each beard hair and replace it in the proper position. This shouldn’t scar the face if performed with a small punch. A laser would also work but then you would waste the hair

My Beard Hairs Fuse Together

Hello,

Some of the individual hairs on my beard get really thick and seem to fuse together with other hairs. These hairs are clearly visible upon close examination of my stubble, at least to me … I hunt these bizarre hairs like wild game then extract the bounty, mercilessly, with a shiny pair of unforgiving tweezers. If I rub the follicular carcass between my powerful digits, individual hairs separate from the seemingly single, thick, shaft. Moreover, when I pluck these wild beasts, there is no pain, whatsoever – they submit to my attack and exit the follicle, without fight or protest. If I pull a regular beard hair out, it screams in protest and fights ’till the bitter, painful end.

Are you familiar with the hairs I’m describing? If so, what’s going on?

I’m a 32 year-old male and I’ve been on Finasteride for almost three years. I break a 5mg pill into four pieces. I take one piece in the morning and one piece at night so I always have some in my system.

You’re taking 2.5mg of finasteride daily after only 3 years? That’s higher than the recommended dose for treating hair loss, but hey, if it works for you and your prescribing physician is fine with it, more power to you.

Some hairs grow out in 2’s or 3’s. It can be normal to see those on your beard, chest, or pubic area. You’re probably not seeing your facial hairs become symbiotic, attacking each other in a fight to death. Give your hairs some “mercy”.

By the sound of what you describe, you seem like someone who battles not only with hair loss, but perhaps an obsessive compulsive disorder. I will give you points for a highly creative email, though.

This looks like Alpecia areata, an autoimmune disease which impacts the hair. You should see a dermatologist and upon examination with a hand microscope he/she will see ‘exclamation mark’ hairs which makes the diagnosis. The a biopsy and a special treatment routine is needed.

My friends (26, and 27) who are balding are making fun of my hairline

You have kept your 5 year-old hairline. Don’t feel bad, assuming you are the same age as they are, you will be in the category of people like Bill Clinton who kept his 5 year-old hairline into his early presidency. The juvenile hairline is rounded, concave in shape. All boys and girls at the age of 4-6 have this hairline and you were fortunate to keep it. Maybe you will become president one day. Tell anyone that makes fun of you that you and Bill Clinton share the same hairline, that should be on-up for you.

My Aunt Got a Chemical Burn a Year Ago and Still Has a Bald Spot

Hi there it has been 1 year since my aunt has burnt my scalp with a relaxer it was red then healed but now there is a bald spot will my hair grow back and i am 14. what can i do to help it grow back? how fast will it grow? please help!

Honestly, I do not know. Your aunt’s hair may never grow back if the damage is significant and the burn went down to the root of the hair. If it was to grow back, I’d expect it might have grown back by now (since it’s been a year) or at least some regrowth should’ve occurred.

She should have the burned area examined by a dermatologist.

My 5mg Finasteride Pill is Too Small to Cut!

I, like another member on here recently, was prescribed Finasteride in the 5mg tablet once a week by my dermatologist. I’ve researched here that it’s better to take it daily for the most effective treatment, however, the pills that I picked up at the pharmacy are very, very small. They are circular shaped, blue in color and have an ‘H’ on one side, and a ’37’ stamped into the other side. Are you guys familiar with this pill and is this the size that I am expected to cut into fifth’s?

I need to know if I should try and get a larger size, go ahead and cut them (into at least thirds?), or just stick with the once a week treatment. Thank you!

This is a problem that I’ve heard about before, depending on the generic maker. I’m not familiar with that exact pill you’re describing though. Some generic makers use various excipients to size the pill larger, making it easier to cut. Some may even add scores into the tablet to make it easier to break. You can either go back to your pharmacist and see if they have a different generic size available or try to cut the pill carefully.

It really makes no difference if the 5mg pill breaks apart, provided that the entire 5mg pill is consumed over a 4 day period. I am assuming that even with some crumbs lost in the cutting process, it will still amount to 4mg consumed. Taking 1mg every day is better than taking 5mg once every 5 days, but I’m not your prescribing doctor.

My 4000 grafts hair transplant at 22 in Turkey

just wanted to share my hair transplant experience. I planend to do it at the hair line clinic Ankara as it has a pretty good reputation in german hair loss forums. Since I was pretty young (22y), I decided to go to a consulation they offered and talked to them personally about the situation. I have been a NW4 on Finasteride and Minoxidil 5% twice a day. They figured out the size and density of my donor area and we planned the hairline together. I decided to go for it and “booked” my hair transplant. When I arrived in Turkey, they had a driver who picked me up and I slept in a nice building next to the clinic. The next day, we planned the final hairline, did some medical tests before and then shaved my head. Afterwards, and for the next 3 days, as 4000 grafts were transplanted, it was always the same procedure: One doctor pulled the grafts out of my head, then they were “prepared” 10-15 minutes, then another doctor set them in. During the day, we had to take some medications and put some creme on the donor area. After the 3 days, post op instructions were given to us which I followed completely (maybe too much haha). Anyways, the price of this clinic ranges from 2.50 to 3 Euros per graft (depends on whether they can propose you a date or not, if you shave your head or not and if they are allowed to take pictures or not) and I can definetely recommend the clinic as I am very happy with the results. As I am very young and my crown is thinning, might be the case that I have to go again.

From what you described, it sounds like you had a good experience but the issue really is balding pattern and using up your donor supply. With 4000 grafts, you used up at least half of your donor bank, possibly more. I always discuss the concept of a Master Plan as balding is a progressive process and the hair in the donor bank only allows withdrawals, never deposits. A 22 year old with a Class 4A pattern might still develop a Class 7 pattern in the future so the remaining hairs in the donor bank is critical for that eventuality.

My 4 Year Old Has Hair Loss After She Had Chicken Pox

hi, my daughter is 4 years old. recently she had chicken pox after which she losses her hair every time with combing or sometimes without combing. the amount of loss hair is almost 30 or 35 hairs per combing. i really worry about her what should i do? thanks

The stress on the body from chicken pox could be causing your daughter’s hair loss, but you should take her to a pediatrician if you are concerned.

My 18 Year Old Daughter Is Losing Hair — What Should I Do For Her?

Could you please tell me what type of doctor you should take your 18 yro daughter to if they are experiencing considerable hairloss. Her hair is thinning all over her head, and especially on top in the front. Our general practitioner sent us to a derminatologist. We went to the dermatologist for around 6 months without any progress. He tried to tell us it was hereditary hairloss, yet no women in the family on either side has thin hair.

They finally ordered blood work that I got a copy of. They never even called us with the results. It showed her MPV was low, 6.4 fL and her Ferritin was only 12ng/ml. Not sure what MPV is, but I know ferritin is iron. I’m having her take a multivitamin in the morning and an iron supplement at night. I would like to get her into a good doctor who gives a darn and could help her out. She is very athletic and does a lot of working out and sports. Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Also, should I have her give Mens 5% Rogaine foam a try to see if we can accelerate the progress?

Ferritin of 12 is in the low side of the normal range. The best thing you can do is to see a good internist to treat iron deficiency if present and also to check for other medical conditions that can cause hair loss in women, including thyroid disorders, immune diseases, and PCOS. If there is a genetic component, then having her hair mapped out for miniaturization will show the classic signs of the genetic process in women.

Only have my mustache grows, what can I do?

I have always grown a full mustache but mine started disappearing little by little. I only grow one side and the other is as smooth as a babies bottom. what sucks so much about is that I have to keep up with shaving one side so you cant see it growing in and looks like I forgot a side lol. (what’s going on) any anwsers
