Does MSM make hair grow faster, and if so, by about how much?
I read and agree with this article: MSM and Hair Loss for a Treatment. Many claims, not much data.

I have had 2 MRI’s without contract. Both times within 2-3 months of the MRI, I started losing massive amounts of my hair. This has never happened any other time in my life. I lost about 2/3 of my hair in about a 3-4 month period before it stopped falling out each time. Also the MRI’s were about 4 or 5 years apart from each other. The reason for the MRI’s were due to an injury not illness.
They say MRI radiation doesn’t cause this. However this is my experience as it is others as I read online. There are many times in history the medical system has guided us one way to find out they were killing us, then rewrite how to handle these things.
Thank you for your comment. I have not had many such complaints from people taking MRIs so I don’t know how to respond intelligently. In theory, an MRI should not impact hair loss so I must wonder what stress you might have been under, possibly contributing to hair loss.
Can rates of mpb change time to time in a person. From 2017 – 2018, my hair line went to Norwood 1 from Norwood 0. The texture of my hair changed and density decreased. From July 2018 to now, there was no change in hairline or density, remains the same. Essentially does mpb progress in a linear, exponential, or sine wave like fashion? Or is there no idea.
Moving from a Norwood 0 to a Norwood 1 is just moving from a juvenile to a mature hairline, and it is NOT balding. To be sure, I would have to see what you are referencing with some good photos.

How can you tell the difference between male pattern baldness and general thinning as you age? I am almost 35 and have no discernible signs of MPB other than a mature hairline (which appeared when I was about 19). However, I am convinced my hair is thinner than it used to be.
Simple answer: There is a pattern to MPB. That is why they call it male “pattern” baldness and this is the classic male genetic hair loss.
There are other diseases that cause general thinning, including diffuse unpatterned alopecia (DUPA), senile alopecia, etc. You can have that diagnosis made for sure by comparing the bulk in different parts of your scalp. A knowledgeable doctor will add value in examining you.
Dear Sir,
Could one perform a complete FUE of all the donor hair from the back of the head to the top, i.e. create the exact opposite of MPB look? I think it’s just a matter of this encoded aging pattern in peoples heads that makes them think one is older than in reality. Just moving the hair around would confuse people enough to like that as a nice hairstyle. It’s basically the same thing as shaving the head completely bald – no hair, no pattern, monkey-brain has no recognition of aging. Different pattern is also just a big unknown to our monkey brains, so people would just get confused and interested rather than think ohhh this one looks old. It’s that obvious idiotic pattern that makes men look old. Am I not correct?
Just some illustrations to my message.

Please, take it into consideration, Doctor(s)!
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What you may perceive as a good look may be different for others. With respect to what you are suggesting, we do something similar for hair transplant surgery, just not to the extreme you’d like. We move the donor hair to create a non-balding look.
But follicular unit extraction (FUE) will still create small dot scars, and if you had all the money in the world and had every hair extracted from the donor area and placed into the top of your scalp, you’d still be left with thousands of these tiny dots all over the donor area.
We must be able to laugh, even if you are balding.

i would like information on moustache restoration as mine is thin
The use of hair transplants for the moustache is relatively easy to do technically, but may be more difficult from a planning point of view. The hair usually would come from the back of the head and you therefore must be reasonably sure that the character of your hair from the back of the head will look like your existing moustache. If you have a coarse, brown haired moustache and fine, blonde hair in the back of your head, a transplant using scalp hair might not be the right decision. To get around this, one could use pubic hair which is more coarse than a fine character scalp hair transplant. Get an expert to find out what is reasonable.

Good mouse research. May not apply to humans as many mouse studies have found.

Hi, I have a few questions regarding hair loss and finasteride.
- Does tight motorcycle helmet causes hair loss.I’ve notice increased hair loss since i regularly started wearing full face helmet which is a bit tight on my hairline and genera crown area.
- Could it be possible to experience hair loss due to lack of iron mineral?
- Propecia is being advocated very often but how is it logical not considering the loss of 70% of your DHT as a serious issue which is in essence the maleness hormone from a young age of 23?
- What is your opinion about the Swedish Medical Products Agency 2008 study that supports permanent side effects from the use of finasteride?
- I am prone to depression and sexual problems due to antidepressants from time to time, do you still recommend finasteride in my case?
- Can you guarantee from your expertise that side effects subside even if you quit the drug after e.g 3 years or more of continued use?
Thanks

We see this type of result when men have large FUE sessions. There is little doubt that this is a vascular problem induced by the FUE technique. The good news is that we can treat this very successfully with scalp micropigmentation, but the hair will never come back so the patient must style his hair appropriate with the treatment (i.e. very short or very long hair). The scars will not show after the SMP is done.
