Is this Traction Alopecia?

I am a 21 year old female suffering from traction alopecia. Unfortunately, due to my work I have to wear my hair in tight ponytails. I believe this has caused me to lose hair around my temples. What are my options ?

I would like to know if it is present on the other side as well. Sometimes a condition called Triangular Alopecia can cause a pattern of hair loss like this, but not as large. A hair transplant surgeon is always motivated to meet his patient’s agenda. I have done such hairlines in men when pushed to do so. Many were actors that had an image that they needed. The fact that it could be done is critical and other than being very low, it still has a gentle V-shape and is found (at the mid-line) in his juvenile hairline position. Many people would find such a hairline too low. (taken from Reddit post)

Is this DUPA

Look at the arrows pointing to the miniaturized hairs. The diagnosis is determined when the miniaturized count significantly exceeds 20% of the total hairs. That is not the case here, so I can assume that you do not have DUPA. I hope you are relieved.

Is this Alopecia Areata? (photo)

It is likely that you have alopecia areata. Take a look at this reference: https://baldingblog.com/how-does-a-dermatologist-check-for-miniaturization/ which shows the in-office examination results from using a trichoscope for the evaluation and diagnosis of this condition. This patient shows the classic critical diagnostic finding with a trichoscope or exclamation mark hairs
