Is Aderans Completing Phase 2?

hello dr
i think Aderans is very close to complete phase 2 and begin with the last phase which is phase 3

this is the link: Aderans Research Reaches Major Milestone in Phase 2 Clinical Study Enrollment

From the release — “Aderans Research reached a major milestone this month with the completion of enrollment in one of its key Phase 2 clinical protocols.

I don’t know that they’re all that close to completing phase 2, based on the info in this press release. It says they’ve completed enrolling participants for phase 2, which sounds like it could still be pretty early in the phase.

Is Acne Caused by DHT?

You said before that Propecia/finasteride has no effect on sebum. And some people have complained that Propecia has increased their acne. I was on Propecia for 58 days and I didn’t notice my acne getting any better or worse. This being said, is it safe to say that acne is not caused by DHT? Sure, DHT might be present but maybe it’s caused by something on the surface of the skin, such as skin cells not being sloughed off fast enough.

According to Wikipedia, “[acne] is a common skin condition, caused by changes in the pilosebaceous units, skin structures consisting of a hair follicle and its associated sebaceous gland via androgen stimulation.

The pilosebaceous unit (hair, gland, and follicle) become infected as they are colonized by bacteria that destroy some of the microscopic anatomy. The output of sebum just feeds the areas which become infected and the circulating androgens. The list of causes are listed here, as well as descriptions of the social impact of the process in its teenage victims. DHT is just one of the androgens that contribute to acne so the use of drugs like Propecia usually fail to solve the acne problems.

Is a pubic hair transplant possible?

I have been applying minox foam to my pubic hair for the past 3 months. My pubic hair was quite long to begin with, but now the hairs are over 4 inches long. Typically they would be only at 2-3 inches at the longest. I was doing this experiment to see if it would make sense to use pubic hair in a hair transplant and my research has lead me to believe minox is a valid solution to the length issue when using pubic hair for scalp hair transplant. I will continue to apply once a day, 1 ml for the foreseeable future (wife is not happy)

Pubic hair has been used for hair transplants in the past. The problem is its very curly nature and it may not match your hair characteristics.

Is a Hair transplant the only viable long term solution if you get side effects from Finasteride ?

I have performed hair transplants on many men who will not take drugs of any type. The nice thing about a hair transplant, is that other than its progressive nature, there is no maintenance required for the transplanted hair to grow for your lifetime in 95% of men who get it.

Is a Hair Transplant The Only Answer?

im 21, but have been going bald since sixteen. i hate it cause im so young and have no confidence. i used drugs to solve it but nothing happened. is a hair transplant the only answer? sick of seeing all these ways of growing hair back, as in using tablets

At 21, you are young to be balding, especially since this has been going on since you were 16. However, you are certainly not alone; see the Age postings in this blog for some of the other questions (and my responses) from men your age. I would suggest that first you have a complete physical to rule out any underlying medical conditions that could be causing the hair loss. Once that is done, your next step would be to see a doctor who specializes in hair loss. Be ready to discuss with them your medical history, what hair loss treatments you have tried and for how long, what effect they have had, and what is your family history of balding.

A hair transplant may be appropriate at your age if your future genetic balding pattern can be determined. A good, ethical hair transplant surgeon will be able to tell you whether surgery is an option, or if Propecia alone would be beneficial at this stage in your balding. Do not rush into surgery without a clear understanding of what your future balding pattern may be.

Is a Hair transplant at 20 ok?

Is it possible to get a transplant at around 20 years old if you have been on Fin for a couple of years, and had been able to stop further hair loss? Since Fin stops hair loss, and transplants are recommended for people 25+ in order to see what your balding pattern will be, why would you need to wait that much longer?

Never a good idea. Take a look at this: https://baldingblog.com/need-master-plan-think-hair-transplants-photos/ You must have a Personalized Master Plan in the case that your balding pattern follows this man. If he started at 20, he might have used up all of his donor hair before the balding became complete. That means that he might not look right, hair wise. Good planning starts when you begin the hair transplant process and you MUST know your lifetime donor supply.

Is 25 too young for a hair transplant?

So I can currently see some of my scalp and gave receding hairline at the temples. Is it too early to try transplantation? I’m thinking Rogaine alone should be enough to get more volume in the scalp but it only seems like it will buy time until you need surgery I also heard that you can still do FUE transplants after FUT, but can’t do FUT once an FUE has been done

If your pattern is clear and you have a doctor who can build a Master Plan for your balding future, 25 is a minimum age to do a hair transplant as long as you know what is going to happen to you. A good doctor will help you with that process. Here is a good example of what you don’t want to happen: https://baldingblog.com/had-a-hair-transplant-at-21-now-at-22-he-has-more-hair-loss/

Is 20 to early to start finasteride?

I went to the dermatologist recently because I’m really worried that I’m starting to lose my hair. I haven’t really noticed any shedding or anything but the hair above my temples seems to be very slightly higher than I remember . Basically the doctor said she couldn’t tell if my hairline was receding or not. When I asked about Finasteride she said that even if i was receding she wouldn’t prescribe me it because my age and some recent studies that showed sexual side effects later in life. I’m honestly sick of worrying about my hair and considering taking it as a preventive measure (both sides of the family have male pattern baldness even though it didn’t affect them until later in there lives 30+) From everything I’d read and seen it seemed like the side effects for this drug are super over blown but after hearing her say that its making me second guess my conclusion. I’m pretty sure If I went to a different doctor I could get them to give me a prescription but I figured I would put something on here first. If I am losing my hair I would like to do something about it before it gets any worse and sitting here going wondering isn’t making me feel any better.

The drug is more effective in most 20 year olds than 30 year old men as a general rule. A lot of that depends upon the hair loss pattern you have inherited. For example, if your father’s pattern is a Class 7 pattern and you are taking after your father from talking with him, I have found that finasteride might slow down the progression to a Class 7 pattern but not stop it; however, if the pattern you are inheriting was not an advanced pattern, then this drug can often slow, stop and possibly reverse it the younger you are. Now with that said, in your situation I would perform a HAIRCHECK test (https://baldingblog.com/haircheck-test-how-it-is-done-video/) to determine if you are in-fact balding before committing a lifetime of taking the drug finasteride because maybe you are not balding. Yearly HAIRCHECK tests will tell you that story and changes in your hairline beyond a mature hairline, could also indicate some genetic factors in you as well. With this approach, you will have developed a Master Plan for your future and with that plan you can stop worrying.

Is 0.5mg finasteride EOD safe?

I’ve been taking .25mg every other day for 7 weeks now and my hairloss – especially around the crown – has only accelerated. Is it safe to keep going with this dose?

Safety is not an issue, effectiveness for low dosage as you are doing is the issue. This dose, based upon the Merck studies, is about 50% as effective as the full 1mg dose.
