Is Chlorine in Water Causing Hair Loss?

I came to Dubai 2 months back and from the beginning I am losing my hair very fast. When my hair is wet during the shower, it falls out even when I just touch them. I never had any problems with my hairs in my life. My hairs were very strong but dry without dandruff. After a month in Dubai I was feeling a little itching and I saw I was having dandruff, although I don’t have much dandruff now, but it has started. I heard Dubai water is not good for hair because it contains chlorine. I don’t want to lose my hairs and want to grow them big. I was using Vatika shampoo before Dubai and now here I have started using Sunsilk egg and also use oil to keep my hairs soft. My hairs are just falling, how to stop them and make them dark, strong & black. Which shampoo should I use. How is Head & Shoulders? Help me.
Again and again, I tell my patients that they need a diagnosis. You are grasping for straws until you get properly evaluated with a mapping of your scalp for miniaturization. Please see a good doctor first, get examined and have a proper diagnosis in hand, then look for causes if the hair loss results from other outside factors. This, a good doctor can tell you. Chlorine should do no more harm to your hair in normal therapeutic doses than water without the chlorine.

Is Finasteride Working?
You may slightly notice if hair loss has stopped or slowed down. The drug will be having an impact. The only way to find out what is happening is to stop the drug, and if you do, you may shed a great deal of hair that may not return. Therefore, stopping Finasteride may not be a good idea. This is a difficult place to be, but you almost always must stay on the drug, and in up to two years, you will almost certainly get value from it.
The Ideal Hair Transplant
This man had his surgery done by Dr. Zarev (Sofia, Bulgaria) who put together an outstanding team to be able to perform up to 6,000 grafts in a single day. I have seen him working at various hair conferences with video access and therefore understand the way he organized his team. Dr. Zarev is unusual in that he built a team that can exploit graft sessions that maximize the patient’s donor area in a one or two day surgery. This patient was done in two sessions totally 11,620 grafts with spectacular results. Apparently he had still another session some 9 months later. I would warn the reader not to assume that they can get such results as explained below.
What was done: This is not the typical patient because to support 11,620 FUE grafts from the donor area, his donor density must have been substantially higher than the average man’s donor density. For the typical person with an average donor density with an average Hair Mass Index, they would almost certainly develop a see-through donor area as shown here if they transplanted 11,620 grafts: https://baldingblog.com/another-case-of-an-over-harvested-donor-area-from-fue-photo/. They would avoid this if their donor density and Hair Mass Index was significantly above average.
The Mathematical Analysis: Mathematically, to support this many grafts, the donor density must be at least 50% higher than the average man’s donor density [the average Caucasian man has 55,000 grafts on their head of which 25% or 13,750 grafts are found in the donor area]. Let’s say 2/3rds of the 13,750 grafts are removed from the donor area in this typical average Caucasian male. That would leave only 2,130 grafts remaining (13,750 grafts originally in the donor area -11,620 extracted = 2,130 grafts remaining). If this man only had 2,130 grafts in his donor area remaining, he would likely develop a see-through donor area which is clearly not the case as shown in the after picture here.
Working with men who have a high density and who have a better than average Hair Mass Index makes the surgeon perform ‘miracles’ as shown here. But what are we actually seeing? Let’s dissect this ‘miracle’. We are seeing the results of 11,620 grafts covering an area that would normally contain approximately three to four times that amount of grafts (34,860 – 46,480 grafts) that would have been present in the transplanted area before this man became bald. So clearly, what we see is the result of more than just hair. It is the result of the art of the surgeon who understands how to distribute these grafts and weight these grafts to look ‘full haired’ from every angle. I would expect that the leading edge of the frontal hairline was built denser than other parts of the head. As you look at the donor area, this man still has more FUE grafts that can be used for future surgeries if needed.
There is never a substitute for a great surgeon who put together a great surgical team. I have put this analysis together for those of you who really want to know the reality of the hair transplant process they often see or fail to see.

Is it Normal For A Hairline To Recede With Age?
I’m Hispanic, feel like I have a pretty good hairline cause of genes and all that. Id say that all my lifes its been Norwood 0, basically have david schwimmers hairline from friends. Probably a bit more filled up, always hated it cause my hairline was always really crooked and I wanted it to be straight. This past year or so ive noticed that my left side Has straightened a bit more, it’s not receded, still nw0 but my right is more filled up. Isn’t this normal though? Feel like a lot of people here freak out over the slightest recession. It honestly even made me a bit paranoid, I mean I wasn’t expecting my hairline to stay the same way like when I was a kid all my life. I’m nearly 20 and honestly am kinda freaked out browsing here.
Hairlines mature in men and stop at the mature position, which is one finger breadth above the highest crease of the furrowed brow. The shape will be a gentle V shape. Send me photos and I will tell you if you have a maturing hairline. David Schwimmer has some of his juvenile hairline still remaining, and did not undergo a full maturing hairline development as some men do. One of my son’s also kept most of his juvenile hairline.

Nice improvement. Stay on your routine and it will only get better. It may take another full year to see more value of what you are doing and it is even more likely that it will get better if you add weekly microneedling to your routine. If this is not enough and you are over 25, then a hair transplant will give you a normal hairline, something to consider.
I’m 23, is it worth treating my inevitable balding?
So I’m not sure if I should try to prevent the inevitable. At 23 and with bald ancestors, I’m not sure any treatment will do more than just delay the hair loss. Is it worth attempting to save my hairline or will it all be in vain? Also how much will it cost me to more or less?

Is My Crown Balding or Is That Just How It Parts?
Hello,
I’m 22. I have had long hair for about 2 years now, and I hadn’t paid much attention to my hairline at all. Recently, in about the last 3-4 months, I began to start looking at it and noticed that I do indeed have a receding hairline. However, due to my long hair, I cannot quite tell if I have any vertex hair loss as well. I took a picture and have a spot, but it’s possible that it’s just the way my hair part. It has been like that ever since I’ve had my longer hair (I never paid attention to the back of my head). I have also noticed similar parts in other guys with long hair. None of my friends or family have mentioned it to me, especially my friends, since we talk about this type of stuff all the time.

It is difficult to tell based on the lighting in the photo. Sometimes under harsh lights, the scalp can be seen even without any balding present. This indeed may be early crown balding, but the way to determine this is to map your scalp and look for miniaturization in both the frontal hairline and the crown. Then, if you have miniaturization, you are genetically balding and should consider treatment.
