You are most likely developing balding from genetic hair loss. There are two wonderful drug for treating this problem, (1) finasteride which might reverse the loss if you are in your early 30s, and (2) Minoxidil plus taking the finasteride pill. You must see a doctor for the finasteride. Whatever you do, do not get a hair transplant until you are at least 25 years old.
Warning about hair transplants in Turkey by blogger (from Reddit)
The problem of those clinics is that they are doing like 15 patients per day. Most of those clinics are just hair mill, everything is rushed
You get to see the experienced surgeon only five minutes to draw you your hairline … He doens’t even answer your questions. People who are actually doing the FUE are inexperiencied technicians … The surgeon doesn’t do anything on your hair except drawing the line and trying to sell you useless vitamins ….
The surgeon even forced my friend to buy finasteride, he said you need to take finasteride for 1 week after the HT to make it succesful lol. They recruit new technician very often because the demand is so high, i went to turkey with a friend for his FUE, the technician said he started this week
The result my friend got is pretty bad, overharvested donor area, unnatural temples, pluggy hair, loft graft during operation, technician using snapchat during the operation etc … And he choosed one of the best “low cost” clinic in Turkey with a ton of “good reviews” So basically those clinics only show the good results or fake review …
Be careful, if FUE price in turkey is cheap, it’s for a reason

Watery Semen on Finasteride
Been on it for 8 days and the last couple of days I noticed my semen is really watery. I have no side effects other than that. I did some research and notice it’s a really common side effect, I’m just wondering if it will keep happening for as long as I take Finasteride or if you have heard of it resolving itself in patients who continue to take it? Thanks for your time!
It usually remains. A few people told me it got less watery, but that is the exception to the rule.

Harvesting More Grafts with FUE
I’ve had two procedures with your group and I just read your posting about the progressive nature of hair loss. My hair is really thin now and getting worse.
With the new procedure FUE, is it possible to extract more grafts than the old method all things being equal? If so, could you please explain.
Thanks.
To answer this question would be mostly speculation, as each case is different. If you already had strip harvesting, then at some point if you needed more hair, FUE can harvest hair above and below the point where the strip was harvested. So, yes there should be more hair that can be harvested in combination with the strip harvesting you had. Also, make sure you are on Propecia to slow down or stop the hair loss. If you are not on this drug, you should be.
I Went to My Gp for Hair Loss and He Sent Me Home!
I recommend you see a doctor in the hair business and establish a personal relationship with that doctor. No doctor should send you home when you are worried about anything, especially hair in a young man.
Went to see a GP and within 2-5mins and he sent me home. from tressless

Have Any Patients Gone Completely Bald While on Propecia?
Have you ever seen anybody end up going completely bald while on Propecia?
Interesting question. Some men start Propecia when they have advanced balding patterns and few start when they have a full head of hair with early miniaturization. Those that started Propecia with a full head of hair (with some miniaturization) are slowing losing hair to some degree, but I do not recall anyone that became completely bald. I suspect that there are patients who will develop a Norwood Class 7 pattern of balding even on the drug, but these are few and far between. This does not mean you are guaranteed to not go bald on Propecia. I suspect I have not followed someone long enough in the last 10+ years to have seen it (or if they became bald, they never followed up with me).
What Are Your Thoughts on Propecia?
Hi Dr. Rassman,
I am experiencing hair loss at an early age, as I am only 21. I have started using Rogaine, but I don’t know how well it will work. I have considered using Propecia, but the side effects seem pretty risky. What are your thoughts on Propecia? Is it worth the risk of erectile dysfunction, etc?
Thanks!
I’ve written my thoughts on Propecia on the blog hundreds of times. I figured that even the casual reader would be able to discern my thoughts on Propecia. Use the search box on the top right of the site and you’ll find a wealth of info.
I do prescribe Propecia to my patients and have seen it work very well in young men with early hair loss. The risks are small, but they can happen. The internet hype far outweighs the reality. There’s no way for me to know if you’ll experience any side effects. It’s a prescription medication, so talk to your doctor about your concerns.

Having SMP Done in Between Transplanted Grafts?
Hey Dr Rassman,
If a patient were to come and request to have as many grafts that their donor supply would allow then have the SMP procedure done in between those grafts and also had the scar camouflaged in the back of the scalp, wouldn’t it be nearly impossible to tell the persons head of hair from a non balding person?
Like for those individuals with high donor densities if some had 10,000 grafts placed on their scalp then had the micro pigmentation procedure done i would think they would be able to get close to their juvenile hairline back and they would also be able to grow their hair out to probably a number 1 clipper without it looking too odd. What are your thoughts on this?
Yes, we have done this before. Here’s an example of a patient that wasn’t satisfied with his transplant and had SMP done to give it a fuller look. Another patient that comes to mind had SMP done first, then had 500 or so FUE grafts placed into his head to give him the feel of stubble.
Though, if you’re going to have 10,000 grafts placed, I would probably wonder why you’d want to shave your head down to a 1 guard.
What Could This Growing Bald Spot in My Facial Hair Be?
About 3 months ago I found one little spot on my chin which was bald. I asked my dermatologist about it and he told me that hair will grow there by 2 to 3 months. But the spot is now increasing its area and it looks very odd. Also I don’t have any sign of fungal/bacterial growth in that area. Can you give me some idea of what it could be? Disease? Allergy?
Without seeing you, it would be a complete guess. Alopecia areata is a possibility if there is no fungal infection present, such as ring worm. If your dermatologist was dismissive, you can try seeing another dermatologist.
