I like the density count in the article which does show an increase in hair density following PRP. More data and more patients are required but the study is good.

To find out how many grafts you need for the crown, there are a few things you need to know first:
(1) Thickness of the hair – fine, medium, or coarse (the thicker the hair, the less the number of grafts you will need)
(2) Character of the hair (wavy is better than straight)
(3) Color contrast between your hair and skin (brown hair on light skin often means more grafts, while gray hair requires less hair)
(4) The crown is the place where the direction of the hair changes.
If you want the swirl, you need to discuss this with your doctor. Your balding area is similar to mine, and I had 2,700 grafts placed into it over the past 25 years. So, if I were to estimate a range of grafts for you, it would be between 2,000-3,000 grafts, modified by the above.

In these 4 months since starting dut/microneedling, I feel my hair is more dense, better quality, and I’ve noticed small vellus hairs on my temples.
Dut (0.5mg) 2x a week
Fin (1mg) 5x a week (on days I don’t take dut)
Foam minoxidil 2x a day (as per instructions)
1.5mm derma pen 1x a week
0.5mm derma pen 4x a week (immediately before applying min)
Nice improvement seen in just 4 months. I noticed that he did dermaroller 4 times a week. I see some fill in the forelock and also in the corners of the hairline. Better photos with better views would help.

Finasteride, on the other hand, has a bloodstream half-life of 4-6 hours, and if you stop it, it will be out of your system in weeks, not months. The FDA also cleared finasteride for hair loss use.
As you get older your testosterone drops along with the DHT and then the finasteride is often less effective as you get older. What hair you have has stood the test of time which is an indication that much of it might stay; however without seeing you, I can’t make such a judgment.

Many off us now that chronic stress is bad for the overall health, one of the potential effects of stressors is an increased hairloss, maybe not such a big problem if you dont have androgenetic alopecia but if you do this temporary increased hairloss can potentially do more damage to the already weakening follicles! So my questions is:
1. In the connection to stress what is exactly happening chemically in the hair follicles that is leading to increased hairloss/premature entering of the anagen follicles to telogen?
2. And finally, hairloss that is connected to severe stress follows a diffuse pattern or am i wrong?
I do not have the answer to your question. Extreme stress (both emotional or physical) can cause hair loss and for men with genetic hair loss, it will follow a pattern of loss (not become diffuse). In women, this is often not the case as they are more likely to develop a diffuse form of thinning (without a specific pattern). I do not know the exact biochemical science behind hair loss caused by stress. As it is often said, medicine is mostly a descriptive science. Many times, we don’t know exact mechanisms.

Your donor area appears over-harvested especially because I see that the doctor went out of the permanent zone, into your neck hair which is not permanent and above the permanent zone on the right side. The area itself, looks like the density has been significantly depleted. Time will tell as you allow the donor hair to grow out.
